Matthew sits at the hospital, staring at the wall. This is the fourth time he had been sitting in the same hallway, waiting for news about Noah.

He stands, stretching the kinks out of his back and walks to a designated mobile phone zone. He knows the rules about using them where you’re not allowed to and tries to smile as he hears Noah’s voice in his head, telling him he’d be in trouble and on the naughty step for using it in the wrong place.

He takes the phone out of his pocket and speed dials Billy. He waits for him to pick up and hopes his voice doesn’t give away what has happened.
