Richard is standing outside the stage door, once again waiting for Jude to sign the plethora of programmes and memorabilia thrust at him. Their own car is waiting for them as they are heading out to a friend's cottage in the country. Jude is tired, playing the Dane is a roller coaster ride and it's beginning to tell on him. Richard is watching his lover dispassionately and comes to the conclusion he is tired.

"You're done," he steps into the melee when he judges Jude's had enough.

Jude looks up from the programme he's signing to smile at Richard. Always his saviour. He nods, making apologies as Richard's hand clasps around his arm, and lets himself be pulled to the curb, the theater's security helping pave the way.

Richard surveys the Dyson with distaste. He's done it again. He's managed to take it apart to clear the blockage but he can't remember how to put it back together again.

Jude is going to kill him. It's quite simple. His beloved has been filming in New York and Richard promised to clean up before he returns and of course, he hasn't. He's been sitting around reading and doing nothing. The game's up and Richard's bacon is cooked.

I really shouldn't have Google alerts set. It's not healthy. Especially since a large number of alerts for Richard keep calling up the American politican instead of my adorable boyfriend. And I probably should go straight to bed after coming from the theatre, but ... tonight's news: Robert Pattinson isn’t all that stoked about being dubbed the new Jude Law. “I don’t really see the similarity,” he says.

I shall be mournful now that I'm no longer myself. I shall wail from the tower. And if Rob is the new me, then who do I get to be? Or not be?

They've waited an age for this night. Richard, dressed in his leathers, is putting the final touches to their dungeon scene. He has had the health and safety officer at the Citadel about the naked flames, he's organised a room for later and he's done his research into medieval torture; now he is waiting for his muscle to deliver Jude into his hands.

He's filthy, drenched in sweat and manacled, hands in front of him, rather realistic cuffs and chains attached. It's very effective, being dragged by guys who outweigh him three to one, feet scraping the floor and peasant's tunic breezy at best. It's roleplay, and Jude's had time to settle himself into the part. Naked, except for the threadbare cloth draped over him, and blindfolded, he's the prisoner in their dungeon fantasy.

To say that Robert's enjoying London is a bit of an understatement. He loves London. And he is so excited about this film that Katie's driven him from the room, which is fine. Because he's to meet Watson. Er, better known as Jude Law, for lunch. So, that's where he's found, the dining room of his hotel, relaxing in a plush seat, legs crossed, calm if keyed up. He's not even smoking. Good for him. Sparkling water with ice, thank you as he looks at the menu for the third time.

It's taken long enough to get through negotiations, get contracts sign and, truth be told, Jude's not too upset at missing the photo call. He's content to stay out of the spotlight for a few more days, then his every step to and from the studio will be traced again. He finds the hotel easily enough, shakes off the escort from maitre'd and tries to do a mental catalogue of Robert as he walks to the table, soft blue jacket over jeans keeping him nondescript enough to blend into the room.

"Afternoon," he says, extending a hand, ( hope I didn't keep you waiting long. )

jude law is in afghanistan to promote peace day

Jude leaves the news conference and finds a corner to himself, a quiet place to make a phone call. It's so different from the last time, when he and Jeremy had slipped into Afghanistan without anyone knowing. Now there's a press corps behind him, tracking every movement.

"Sean," he starts, pausing when he realizes it's the digital recorder picking up, "we're here, safe and sound. We've yet to meet with Karzai, but we've talked to UN reps. I miss you. Wish it weren't so hazardous here. Evie would love the children in Kabul," he says, "and I'd love having you by my side instead of Jeremy. Except it's his film, so," he stops, waves off some uniformed guard. "I'll call again tomorrow, hope to get you. Love you both."

Jude clicks off the phone as he's walking upstairs, laying the handset on the table as he walks into the bedroom. "The in-laws say hello," he says, settling cross-legged on the bed, "they're coming in next week for Tasha's show, want to have dinner."

"That sounds good," Sean nods. He's freshly out of the shower and slips on a clean pair of jeans. "It'll be nice to see them again. Maybe we can ask Abby if Evie can come along?" He chooses a t-shirt and slips it over his head before going over to Jude, sits beside him on the bed and leans over for a light kiss.

The restaurant's in the neighborhood, only a few blocks away from home, so it's easy to walk over for a late dinner and not have to get dressed to impress, and that makes Jude happy. He made sure the jeans aren't ragged and the Henley isn't stained, but he's toed into the shoes without socks and brushed his hair with his fingers. And now he sits across from his husband on an arbor-covered patio, staring and sipping on wine.

"Quiet," he says, "world's taken holiday all at once."

Evie's finally finished her homework, although it's taken longer than usual from her moving her books whenever Jude goes into the other room, seemingly not liking to let him out of her sight and asking him questions about her homework she should already know. Once she puts her books away she curls up next to Jude on the couch. "Dad? Can we play a game now? Or can I help make dinner?"

Jude looks at his watch. "Chicken has to finish marinating," he says, sliding his arm around to hug her. "What game were you thinking about?"

"I don't mind," Evie shrugs, obviously not having thought that far ahead. "We could play with my easel and make a picture together?"
