Home or to Jake’s? Viggo dumps his bag in the trunk of the cab and flops into the back seat. He’s too tired to think after what seems an eternity of flights and airports, but it’s the middle of the night and Jake’s bed sounds pretty good.

( The house is in darkness when Viggo pays the driver and wanders in through the front door. )

Viggo scans the script one last time and adds another note to discuss with David in the morning. Even though they'd scened in the past it's always professional between actor and director on the set. It's the early hours of the morning and Viggo needs to sleep... but he knows he needs something a whole lot more. Numbers are hit into his phone and he stands at the hotel window looking at the street below while the phone rings.

( He stuffs a piece of pizza into his mouth and reaches for his phone as it rings )

Viggo knows Jake won't be home, but calls anyway. When the voice mail message kicks in he wishes Jake a happy birthday. It is a long rambling message that ends up taking several calls to complete because Viggo keeps coming up with new reasons why he loves Jake and what they can do when he gets home. He makes one last call and tries to sum it up in a poem... it's in Spanish, but he knows Jake will understand the tone if not the words.

Viggo can feel the pull in his gut as he watches the carousel for his luggage. He knows he's being watched and there have already been some photos taken on people's cell phones so he has to play it cool. Jake will be waiting for him, but they have to play it cool. Friends meeting up... nothing more.

Viggo throws his suit bag over the back of a chair and dumps his travel bad near the bed. He has a full day of interviews and photo shoots tomorrow so tonight he plans to keep his door locked and hide out in his hotel room. But there is one thing he has to do first.

So after that conversation they had about putting together some sort of survival kit for when they're apart. Viggo and Jake went to that lovely store at Citadel and bought themselves some, uhm, toys. Among them? A kit to make their own dildos. Fuck yes. Jake can have Viggo anytime he fucking wants, thank you very much. Might not be the same as the real deal, but hey, better than that purple one he's been using that needs to retire anyway being overused and all.

He has both kits open and they were in the large bathroom, a shaving kit there, too and Jake was eyeing the blade a little too cautiously. "We're going to what?!" Though he knows what they have to do, he was still very wary about a blade anywhere near his dick and his balls. Fuck. ( One wrong move... and he'll be talking falsetto the rest of his life. )

There's a distinct frown on Viggo's face as he lays on the couch reading the fax from his manager. The promotion circus that goes along with films is not his favorite part of the job and looking at the itinerary it's going to keep him away from home for a while.

Jake walks in, two beers in one hand and a bag of chips in the other. "Scoot." He tells Viggo before plopping on the sofa, Viggo's feet then cradled on his lap. "What's that?" Jake hands him one of the beers.

Only one thing I can do to make up to my favorite Ringbearer ... "I Viggo Mortensen offer myself as your slave for a day. I will cook (I'm a good cook), clean (I'm shit at cleaning) or do what ever you want."

"You know," Jake says with a slow drawl while he pushes letters on the scrabble board. "If anyone ever finds out what we do during our down time, they'll say we're the most boring couple. Ever." He grins at Viggo who sits next to him on the sofa. "If they knew we were a couple, that is." He takes a swig of beer. His fifth and yes, he is a little tipsy. Just a little.

Okay maybe a lot. Just don't call him lightweight.

An anonymous man in an anonymous bar. Viggo smiles as he makes his way, beer in hand, to a table near the back. That's one of the things Viggo loves about LA; get away from the main strip and no-one gives a shit who you are. It also means he can indulge in one of his favorite pass-times, people watching. Well two of his favorites if you count the beer.

( Rick seems to be haunting the LA Bar frequently this month. He's been feeling exceptionally sociable, and the lack of hockey has him bored out of his mind at home. )

[Happens after they join the mile high club then they take the gloves off and then have a little morning playtime.]


They're quiet as they head for separate sections of the airport carpark. It's important to keep up pretenses, but Viggo hates being away from Jake for even this short period of time. He throws his bag in the back seat and settles behind the wheel ... you'll see him soon. "Traffic better be good," he mutters and turns the car to the exit feeling that Jake's home is still too far away.

Jake grins and then waves and the he's off, too, to get to his car. Much as he does want them together, he finds it thoroughly amusing that Viggo gets all grumpy each time they do have to separate. Even if it was for a short while. He understands it though, especially after the time that they have just spent together. Just them. Jake re-lives this short vacation in his head, whistling and then singing along with the radio as he pulls off the street and into his driveway. Viggo is already there so Jake gets out of the car and jogs inside. ( ''Honey! I'm home!'' )

Jake grumbles in his slumber, wriggling, scratching his bare stomach and then snuggling closer to the warmth beside him. ...Viggo... Even in sleep, he recognizes the familiar feel and smell and he smiles, nuzzling before snuffling and then settling back to sleep.

Viggo grins at the sleepy movement. He's been awake for over an hour watching Jake ... watching his boy. His hand strokes slowly up the back of Jake's thigh until his palm cups the swell of his ass. Viggo's grin turns feral. The gentle hand is replaced a sharp slap and the growled command, ( ''Wake up boy, Sir wants to play.'' )

The shallow water is warm as it laps over Viggo's naked skin. He grins at the sound of someone splashing through the waves. "Hey Gyllenhaal," he calls out. "Wanna get that sun-burnt ass of yours over here?"

Jake grumbles. "It's your fault you know. Never had my ass sunburned before. This is worse than a birthday spanking." He swims to Viggo with a scowling face on, one hand going to his, yes, very sore ass.

Pulling himself up a little Viggo grins, "I could always give you another spanking on your sunburn? Or maybe I just need to kiss it better?"

Jake splashes him but the scowl has long since turned to a grin. "I vote kiss to make it better, mmmhmm." He nods then waggles his brows. ( ''Preferably with tongue.'' )
