I just had an E/T plotbunny that makes me feel sick. But I still want to write it/see it written.
The backstory is that not long after the manga, Eriol moves back to Tomoeda and begins courting Tomoyo. Their relationship lasts for a few years, then they have sex for the first time and less than a month later Eriol leaves without warning. Then Kaho and the Guardians come back and reveal that Eriol had abandoned them, and that he's using the rest of his magic to keep himself looking like a child. Tomoyo feels hurt and betrayed (to put it mildly) when she realizes that Eriol was deliberately deceiving her about his real age.
The story itself starts years later, when Kaho contacts Tomoyo to let her know that she's found Eriol and asks whether Tomoyo wants to come with her. They find him, still pretending to be a child, with a new girlfriend. They convince her that Eriol is using her, too, and while Kaho tries to find out where Eriol has been and how many other girls he's used and abandoned, Tomoyo confronts him directly.
I even had their character motivations thought out. Tomoyo's is obvious; she feels like Eriol raped her and she wants him punished for it. Kaho, I thought, was driven by guilt; when Eriol left her for Tomyo, she suspected that all was not right, but she did and said nothing because she wasn't sure that it wasn't just jealousy causing her ill feelings. When it turned out that she was right, she felt responsible for Tomoyo's pain, because she could have prevented it and didn't, and she also feels responsible for everyone else Eriol hurt because she let him get away. I also had some Tomoyo/Kaho vibes...
Thing is, I can't do that to Eriol, even with the knowledge that it's something canon!Eriol would never do. And yet, I want it out there.
Gah. I need good!Eriol. I'll probably have time to RP this weekend, if you want to bring Kaho out to play. |
