Anyone who thinks all you have to do is be in love and the rest works itself out is going to suffer a lot of disappointment in life.

The only thing that could make that irony more beautiful is if Cal were to comment.

Well, duh. She's a BNF, and a married woman, so anything she has to say on love must be deeply profound.
