Unhappy

While out furniture-shopping, I saw a couple of girls who were about to go see The Last Airbender. Except the adult friend of theirs kept calling it "waterbenders". Between that and that the girls were dark-skinned, I keep thinking that they probably saw themselves in Katara in the original series. And now they're going to see a Katara in the movie that's little more than the Token White Chick.

I did tell them that critical reaction has been awful, both from fans and non-fans, but I'm not sure if they'll decide not to see it, and if they don't, how much it might hurt them.

ETA: WTF I think I got banned from editing articles on TvTropes for adding negative tropes to TLA that the site owner didn't agree with. It's stupid and cliche... but I can't help thinking that the site has jumped the shark.

	I'm starting to think that it's mostly one Entitled White Guy who also happens to be a site owner, and like-minded users reverting changes he doesn't agree with, which they can get away with because they have the blessing of a site owner.
