Sooo... Dragon Cave flisters, did any of you see the rotten eggs but despair at getting your own? As of right now, I have three rotten eggs, and before I try to trade them to strangers for other rares, I thought I'd offer them to you guys. You can even choose which one you want!

Out of context, do statements like

I'd have to say Belkar/Miko is more brain-scarring. I can look at the Belkar/V kiss without problems, but with both the B/M graphics I've seen, I've stared in horror before remembering how to use the scroll wheel.

sound like wanky/fanatical shipper fanbrat statements?

Now, after reading this strip (in case it's not obvious, the halfling referred to is Belkar), does your opinion change?

12:06 am - Which is more annoying...

...the "Katara is a bitch" people or the defenders who reply to everyone that says that? The defenders probably wouldn't be as annoying if I didn't get the feeling that they're upset about the Katara-hate and not the misogynist terms used to bash her. ETA: WTF icon. I don't know who thinks that facesmush manip is "hotter", and I'm pretty sure I don't want to.

8:00 pm - grow up already!

I can't get more eggs until at least one of the matured hatchlings becomes an adult. ETA: Grabbed two more eggs. I'm not expecting them to be alts, but I am hoping to get two breeding pairs. So, send female vibes to the dark green and black eggs!

People who watch Code Geass, is Cal overreacting because his OTP was completely Jossed, or was it really that bad? Either way, though, his decision is completely over the top. In dragon-related news, my first four have grown up, which means it's time for more eggs! ~~I still have one egg space left; any suggestions on what type of egg to grab?~~ Full now.

Otherwise known as "Hyatt just saw the first Moral Christian Guardians protesting at Binghamton University". (They're between the library and the union as of lunchtime, if anyone wants to avoid them.)

Only two, but one looked young enough to maybe be a student. They had a Chick-esque "only by believing in Jesus will you be saved" sign and an "ex-homosexuals for Jesus" one. And, when I passed, someone was already debating them (and the protester seemed to be shouting her down instead of, y'know, trying to debate rationally).

My thoughts: I hope the "only Jesus" sign offends the large Jewish population; and is "gays- repent and be saved" more or less offensive than "all homosexuals are damned"?

TVTropes recommends deleting thread-mode discussions that have nothing to do with the trope page they're on, right? 'Cause I just deleted a subthread about the health of CLAMP pairings from the Mary Kay Letoureau Teaches Here page.

Why did I let myself get roped into this?

Yeah, to an outsider, it might seem hypocritical, but there's a big difference between fanfiction and plagiarism. As I only remembered after I'd replied, plagiarism is officially defined as "use of others' ideas and/or words without proper attribution", and by that definition, fanfiction with the proper disclaimer is not plagiarism. We're not claiming credit for coming up with the characters or the world, just the words. That's probably why plagiarism in fanfic is such a big deal; all that's assumed to be original is what the author writes, and if they stole those words, then nothing they wrote is their own.

Also, fanfiction is a time-honored creative writing tool for lit. classes. Has she never gotten an assignment that required her to write a story in the same universe as the classic she just read?

Finally, plagiarism is treated as a big deal by courts, even when the plagiarism occurred in works that didn't really matter. One person's medical license was revoked because his earlier plagiarism in papers showed a "lack of good moral character". CC has shown the same lack of moral character when she plagiarized for her fanfiction writing, and by that standard, we shouldn't trust her to write her own words professionally, either.

WTF? Since when is Touya/Kaho a rare ship? Besides the people who honestly like it for its own merits, it's the favorite for a. people trying to "straighten out" Touya, and b. getting Kaho out of the way of Eriol/Tomoyo.

In other fandom news, FF.net is sucking more than usual right now. I don't mean the fics posted, I mean the site itself. I can't login to my account, can't leave reviews, and can't report the problems.

They started a "Sora/Riku or Sora/Kairi?" thread. I put my vote behind Sora/Riku/Kairi. The next three comments all ignored it and went back to bashing Kairi/crazed yaoi fangirls.

I'm thinking of calling it Brick Wall Syndrome: You can say whatever outrageous or logical thing you like, but the discussion will never change. It's the same thing that goes on with "Why E/T?" threads whenever someone pops in with canon arguments and evidence against.
