I'm a 40-something stay at home mom who writes. At this point in my writing, I'm a "former" fanfic writer trying to break into profic writing. I haven't written any fanfic since 2006 and have no plans to go back to it any time soon--much to janchristensen's--or "my (published) Mom," as she's known in these parts--glee. This isn't because I'm ashamed of my fanfic; far from it. But my focus has shifted. Those of you here for fanfic aren't going to be seeing it anytime soon again, if ever.

My original fiction is somewhat eclectic, running the gamut from hard SF to urban fantasy to straight fantasy, with a little horror thrown in. I've had one story, "The Affairs of Dragons," published by Renard's Menagerie, in their Issue #4; another, "Bitter Honey," will be published in Afterburn SF's September 12, 2008 issue. I have many other stories out looking for homes. I've had three "Honorable Mention" placements at Writers of the Future. And apparently I only do "short" right now. I have no plans for a novel at this time, although I'd love to write one some day.

My BtVS fanfiction is a little off the beaten path for most that fandom--I have unashamedly written "Message fics" with a Christian!Spike, among other things. I have four of those--however, if that's not your cuppa tea, I have about sixty others that don't inject Christianity at all...so read them instead. I was also, once upon a time, a drabbling fool, and those are uploaded to FFN in various collections, sorted by where they fit. Feel free to poke around my FFN profile. Most of my fic is gen, although there's a bit of Spred and Spillyria shipping in there. And most of my recent stuff is Firefly, with a good smattering of post-BDM Jayne/Zoe. Feedback is craved, so long as it's constructive.

If I've friended you, chances are you're a friend of a friend and I love your fic, or I met you at WriterCon, or I've just stumbled across your LJ somehow, somewhere, and found you interesting. If you don't friend me back I won't be all upset; I understand that some of my political rants are *cough* controversial to some--especially in the Buffy fandom. Be thou warned: Conservatism lurketh here--and sometimes comes right out in the open and bites you on the ankles. Don't flame me for my beliefs, and I won't flame you for yours, k? But the fact that Rush Limbaugh is in my "list o' interests" should alert anyone who's interested in such things that my political leanings are well to the right of center.
