Good things about me not going to England this year: Why, yes, this would be heavy rationalizing. 1. I get to do some more decorating work on our apartment since I'm staying here for another two years. This includes painting. 2. On that front, "I'm just gonna move in a year" is no longer an effective rationalization for not doing any housework. 3. There is no Chipotle in London, and I don't know as I'm quite ready to live without it for a year. 4. I could still lose weight and be, like, a babe when I go over. It ain't gonna happen, mind, but having the possibility should I ever not be lazy is comforting anyway. 5. The irony of placing #4 right after #3 is not lost on me, believe me. 6. I could even have a house to come back to. You never know. 7. More time at Metro. It's killing me to think of leaving that place, even for a year. 8. A lot of my friends are graduating next year. It would be awesome to graduate with them. 9. I could save up for a really kick-ass grad party. 10. More time with the pipe band. I wasn't too thrilled with the idea of learning snare and flourishing only to leave them soon after; I felt it wasn't fair to the drum sergeant. Now, though, the work they're putting into me is justified. 11. One more year of doing the small bits of music industry I like - the festivals and pipe band gigs and competitions and hanging out with my friends. True, K and B (and even I and N and all of T, but I don't know them so well) will be touring in Ireland next year, but I get to see everyone even more over here. 12. I might even have time to double major in English now instead of just getting it as a minor. 13. I might ask if Honors would consider me as its President next year since I'm staying and all. And Sigma Tau. 14. More time for apps and CVs and scholarship stuff. 15. More time in general so I don't feel so rushed. |
