10:40p - The bigger it gets, the smaller it gets.
You know how in Doonesbury, everybody is connected by one or two relationships, and this fact is never really acknowledged in the strip?
Welcome to my life, yo.
Tonight I went to a political rally where my mother's ex-neighbor signed up people to listen to a former classmate of mine at a place run by the brother of somebody on Livejournal and I sat with someone who was on the same e-mail distribution list who I've known for ten years from the same place I met my husband but fell out of touch with and who was the victim of the same batshit-crazy person I know and whose brother-in-law I used to date who I saw at a concert a while ago given by some people a friend of my mother knows. This person I used to date's brother (the husband of the e-mail person) is a founding member of an improv group which also contains this person who knows my maid of honor who knows a friend of mine who did consulting for my husband company. This maid of honor worked with the same people I used to work with at the university where I went with the guy who spoke tonight.
So the more I expand my social circle, the smaller it gets. My bet is that I know at least one person on my LJ friends list without realizing it.
Hm. I should post my real name, or something. Eh. Maybe. I mean, I sort of have anyway.
