RENT Squee-age @ 11:50 am

Current Mood: Squeeing
Current Music: Jeremy Kushnier - Your Eyes

Goddamn Jeremy Kushnier, making me cry. "Your Eyes" is arguably the suckiest song in RENT and you just made me love it. Hrmph.

Like, totally Wicked @ 01:26 pm

Current Mood: Lustful
Current Music: Cary Shields & Krystal Washington - Another Day

From a Playbill.com interview with Joey McIntyre, Norbert Leo Butz's replacement in Wicked:

Q: Speaking of weddings, the topic of gay marriage has been in the news. And you’re Irish Catholic. What do you think of it?

McIntyre: I support gay marriage. I don’t see the big deal. It’s really ridiculous. My mother raised me Catholic, and I think the teachings of Jesus Christ have made me a caring person. And in my family, we have blacks, Jews and gays. I was brought up to follow what Jesus said: Love your neighbor, period.

I think I'm in love. Norbert rocks and I'll miss him but Joey is going to be terrific as Fiyero.

I decided to start using this journal again when LJ is fucking up. Since I can't currently load my LJ friends list, I guess this is the perfect opportunity to use my JF.

Er...except I have nothing to say. I just want to read my flist. *cries*

Dear Annie,

You made the decision to add a lot of B/J fans to your flist on LJ. So when you see a lot of Michael and Ethan hate, you really have no right to get pissed off because you should realize by now that most B/J fans are incapable of seeing anything positive or likeable about Michael and/or Ethan. So get over it or defriend those people, because even mental whining and griping is annoying.

Love,

Yourself

More Broadway spam @ 09:12 am

Current Mood: *Snarl*

I just read on Compulsive Bowlers that Ryan Link has been bought out of his contract at RENT. Now, I've never heard Ryan's Roger so it's possible he wasn't that good and I can't dispute that an actor needing to take time off from a full-time role after only a few months due to voice damage is problematic, but did the producers really need to tell him this on friggin' Christmas Day? I know he was supposed to return on January 5 but it's still a pretty shitty thing to do, especially since Ryan had spent the last couple of months undergoing vocal training and rehabilitation and was so excited about returning. I have a hard time believing the producers made this decision at the last minute; once they brought Jeremy Kushnier in they must've had at least an inkling that Ryan wasn't going to be out temporarily. Otherwise, they would have just had swings replace him until he returned.

Argh. Stupid producer asshats.

QAF Wank @ 11:07 pm

Current Mood: E-V-O-L

Even though I am normally not shy or adverse to posting my obnoxious thoughts everywhere, for some reason I can't get up the nerve to post on fandom_wank. In the hopes that someone reading my JF flist will pick it up and post it for me, I give you this, a (for now) 91 page DataLounge thread of which 85 pages is devoted to arguing whether or not Gale Harold and Randy Harrison (Brian and Justin on Queer As Folk US) are in love/fucking each other. It's wanky as hell, and also amusing as hell.

I can't believe I have a raging crush on a man with the name Norbert Leo Butz. Yeah. It's awful, isn't it? But his voice! So fucking gorgeous. I keep listening to my RENT and The Last Five Years bootlegs and sighing all swoonily. I need to track down some Cabaret and Wicked bootlegs because I need more Norbert. Mmm...Norbert...

And so into the abyss... @ 12:43 pm

Current Mood: Spiffy

After months of telling myself I need to do it, I'm finally organizing my RENT bootlegs so that I can offer them for trade and copy them without too much trouble. Not an easy task, especially trying to track down cast info for shows where I don't have all the details.

I'm currently listening to Anthony Rapp's last on Broadway and it's hilarious hearing how enthusiastic the audience is. His "Tango Maureen" kicks ass and I wish I had this on video.

Next up is the February 27 2001 show with Trey Ellett as Mark, which I hope is better than some of his later Marks, when he was so tired of doing the show. This one has Jai Rodriguez as Gordon or Steve, as well.

I really need to get on the ball and find some boots with Neil Patrick Harris in the Angel cast, Guy Oliveri in the Collins cast, and some of Adam Pascal's performances. Must...have...Adam...

Huh. @ 10:40 pm

Current Mood: relaxed

CSI was fairly boring tonight. It would have been better with more focus on the baby storyline and dropping Warrick's lame subplot entirely.

The girl who played the victim in Sara and Nick's storyline looked very familiar, but I couldn't place her. I'll go ask at PanFandom and hope one of the other CSI fans can tell me who she was.

No G/S scenes this week. *sigh* And I'm still bitter about last week's pre-emption due to baseball. I mean, I downloaded the wild feed, but I wonder when CBS will actually air it, since tonight's episode had a couple of references to storylines started in last week's episode. Pfft. Stupid CBS.

Frustration @ 12:59 pm

Current Mood: Peeved

I've been using the randomizer to find journals I might want to add to my friends list. And also, because I'm bored.

Of the 30 or so journals I hit (not including about 4 repeats), only 3 of those were regular journals with people posting about fannish stuff. All the others either had never been posted in or were character journals for an RPG.

Sheesh.

Current Mood: Tantalized

I have SUCH a girlcrush on Scarlett Johansson. I saw Lost in Translation a couple of weeks ago and I'm still thinking about how beautiful she was in that movie. Her skin is just luminous and she's got a lovely smile.

LIT is brilliant, BTW. Everyone should see it and if Bill Murray doesn't get an Oscar nom, there is no justice in this world.

I want to write Bob/Charlotte fic. I doubt it would appeal to anyone, but still.

Back to gazing dreamily at Scarlett pictures...

Er...so much for my plans to actually use this journal. *brushes away cobwebs* I was planning on archiving all of my fic on my LJ because I don't want to have a fic page on my website anymore but I also want it all archived in one easy-to-find place (y'know, for all the 2 times I'm recced, heh), but I think I'll do it here instead since JF is more stable than LJ.

And perhaps post some other stuff. Baby steps, yo.

Motivation, or the lack thereof @ 10:37 pm

Current Mood: *Snarl*
Current Music: Low - Kelly Clarkson

There's a terrific new multifandom fic challenge and I have not one, not two, but THREE ideas, each in a different fandom. And they're GOOD ideas and not derivative of each other and I'm excited as all heck about this challenge because it's original and amusing and seems like a honkin' buttload of fun.

The problem? I have ZERO motivation to actually write these ideas. They're writing themselves very well in my head, but when I sit down at my computer, I find a million ways to procrastinate and distract myself with other things, until it's too late and I'm exhausted and unable to form a complete sentence. Then I go to bed and start the same process the next day.

It's very frustrating. Has anyone else had this problem? When the muse is working just fine but the brain and body simply won't cooperate to get the damned story out?

ARRRRGGGGHHHHH!

Er... @ 02:59 pm

Current Mood: cold

While this is hilarious and I wish to goddess Natalie had actually said it, as the website says "This article is satire from the Specious Report. This is a parody and not affiliated in any way with DixieChicks.com."

I've just seen a couple of people on LJ and JF who think it's real and thought I'd point out that it's, unfortunately, not. Still good for a giggle, though.
