    Movin On
    This is just to say I've created clone journals at InsaneJournal, GreatestJournal, and JournalFen, all with the same username. I've been following boldthrough since the weekend it started and it's disheartening to have fandom go through this. I never thought about fandom moving out of LJ before. Anyway, I'm focusing on migrating to InsaneJournal for now, uploading userpics and adding people. I really don't like the grey default background though and the fewer s2 styles (the reason why I can't transfer my LJ layout!!)

    So I was going through my IJ entries to tag them and thus reading all the old comments I received and looking at the graphics I made. I think I miss it all. I haven't made anything in months and even then it was more churning it out than letting it flow. I think I want to try some more piecing together digital photos like I did here. I also have some fic I want to rec but I've always been waiting until I had a large post. Even then, I haven't read a lot on account of the best summer I've ever had in my life. I'll be writing more later, probably in a locked post.

    I finished Deathly Hallows!
    YAY!! I finished reading Deathly Hallows yesterday and overall I loved it! I took my time reading, this time by myself and with 2 years of fandom and slash behind me which made for a different experience. Now I can return to LJ and the Internet without fear of spoilers. People are so fast too; I had to google ASS to find out what that was. I'm excited to read post DH fic now, but am trying to finish some long ass fics I stopped in the middle of to read the book. I'm not really sad about any deaths, probably because I know they'll live on in fic. If I didn't have fandom I'd definitely be crying about ( cut for spoilers )

    I'm glad I finished so I can read what everyone has to say. I'll be living on my friends page for the next month.

    I've been travelin
    This discussion on the [info]house_wilson community about the decline of male friendship due to homophobia and other aspects of male-male relationships is pretty fascinating. Though the discussion has died down by now, it's certainly something to think about and not pertinent just to House & Wilson.


    Also, *insert sad face* I'll be traveling to almost the middle of nowhere for the next 6 weeks so I'll have sporadic to no Internet connection and cell phone reception the entire time. Just yesterday I spent 4+ hours catching up on my friends list and I'd only been away from a computer for 2 days. I can't imagine what I'll miss in a month. Fandom, please don't blow yourself up. Wait until I come back!

    On the bright side, I can maybe find some peace and feel like I'm a small thing in the grand scheme of it all. I'll try to post pictures when I get the chance.

    SUPERNATURAL LOVE
    The finale of Supernatural aired a few days ago. I've been watching episodes all week. I've probably watched 80% of them as of now, and many several times. So I've accomplished that goal!

    So throughout the weekend I've been playing the "What's your favorite Supernatural moment?" game to anyone who'll listen to me. Naturally I've been labeled the "anytime the brothers are together" or "anytime SamnDean are suffering" moment-lover, which has prompted me to play "what's your favorite brother moment?"

    Watching all the episodes has made me think about the number of times Dean and Sam have tear-filled eyes/have a woobie camera shot since the pilot. I've been wanting to make a detailed count. Instead I counted the number of episodes where they don't cry and it's quite low.

    Oh yeah, I wanted to list the S2 episodes in my preference order. And I want to list my favorite quote per episode but that is way too much work right now. And I want to make a list of my favorite camera shots per episode with screenshots. And I want to make a list of my favorite scenes since the pilot. And I want to make a list of my favorite BROTHER MOMENTS.

    HP Recs
    I've spent a few hours today cleaning up my rec pages. Now the HP master list is not merely a list with links to the various posts I where originally wrote the reviews but includes the reviews directly on the master list. I just don't think I'll ever write too much for one LJ post, though what is the word limit exactly? Plus this seems easier than always clicking links. Stories are still listed by pairing and I've added a table of contents.

    I've been reading more HP fic lately, amazing fic at that. I've also ventured out of pairings I usually read. Here are two stories I've read the past week that have really stayed with me beyond what I expected.

    HP Fic Recs
    What a relaxing weekend. Very different from last week's weekend from hell. I don't think I knew the meaning of busy until now. Plus last week was crap because this bastard guy made me think about him. I'm better now.

    I watched SPN's "Born Under a Bad Sign" twice more since it aired and it's still as brilliant as ever. I haven't got much to say that everyone else hasn't said. Just that evil Sam gives me chills. This was one of the best episodes of the entire show yet it received such low ratings :(

    I've also read a bit of fic recently and have some to recommend, even though they exist in everyone else's recs already.

    Hello! Hey, it's a Friday night and I'm posting in my LJ...
    The day really does feel longer when you get up early. Last year I got up around 9am after maybe 9 hours of sleep but now I'm getting up closer to 7am and it feels great. And I still get at least 8 hours of sleep.

    I bought myself another year of a paid account. No way I can go back to only 6 userpics.

    Hey all, I've got icons. I hope I'm improving with graphics making. Here I tried to do something besides just coloring. I used to have one standard way of coloring for everything, a dark, less saturated coloring which I've grown out of. Now I'm working with much more layers. I also have a test: I step back, and sometimes many hours later I ask myself if someone would want to use the icon; would *I* use it? If it passes, I'm done.

    6 Items
    1) I'm feeling a bit inspired recently. Just a few well phrased words spoken randomly by someone can click in my head. Reading [info]ignipes's 100 Things I Love About Dean Winchester certainly helps. It's so chock full of ♥♥♥ that I almost passed out. I'm almost done catching up on my friends list skip 500 too.

    2) I'm also slowly getting back in the mood for making graphics. I love this icon I'm using by [info]gilkurtis, which is a lot more creative than anything I've seen recently.

    3, 4, 5) edited. My self censure has no bounds.

    6) I went home over the weekend and got my mom to watch Supernatural. We watched the entire season in 2 days and she even started giving backstory to my aunt (who is very hard to impress) so I didn't have to. ANNND she only fell asleep once! hehe. So while I was watching with my mom, I was trying hard not to see any Wincest and it really wasn't that hard at all. Makes me wonder. Getting back to imagining blowjobs wasn't that hard either ;)

    2 Digital Art Pieces
    I made these two pieces for a class. I purposefully used the art filters so that they would look more like a painting than a photo, and I'm especially proud of the second one. The composition was the toughest part to figure out. After that it was searching for images, which because my camera ran out of batteries, I didn't take any myself. I used stock images from MorgueFile. Yes, the model is J.Padalecki because I couldn't find any good poses elsewhere. The easiest part was working in Photoshop.

    I don't know if I can finish anything without deadlines. And public speaking is not good for my health.



    Non-digital mediums don't like me unfortunately.

    Do people appreciate me posting about graphics here too? Even though the particular fandom doesn't interest them? I'll be iconing HP in this "style," if you can call it that, next. Don't want to neglect it :) Or if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to tell me.

    Hmm, I wish I had a story to tell. How about instead of paying attention today I was playing out the origins of the relationship between these two guys sitting in front of me, who I believe were gay though they looked almost like twins, with matching grey shirts and haircuts and all. Yet another instance how which fandom has pervaded my being.

    The season premiere is this Thursday, woo! I saw the spoilery clip(s) and I must say I am looking forward to it...ok I'm SO JUMPING OUT OF MY SEAT EXCITED! Well, maybe somewhere in between.

    Here's another one of those "darkfic" that I never actively search for but end up totally loving. It's one of those stories that afterwards you just can't do anything but say "whoa." It's one of those that you're kind of sad you read because of the sheer horror you're exposed to but it's only afterwards that you know you've taken everything up to this point up for granted. Yeah, it's one of those. This is the first fic of the SPN fic I've read so far that has really affected me.

    5. OotP pictures are circling the net now. I must say I like what I'm seeing. I was pretty shocked at Harry's short hair cut when that blurry pic surfaced over the summer (?) but I actually don't mind it. It's something different and I think change is good regarding the HP movies...like having a 20 hour NC-17 rated miniseries of the all the books instead.

    6. I was eating dinner with a friend today when this guy at the table next to us (he and I were sitting facing each other) dropped a note in front of me before leaving. A note? A note that said "u r so pretty. My name is..." Uh, is this high school? Why the heck do people do things in half steps? blarglakdsjsd! And of course my friend was laughing her head off. I am so glad I could bring some laughter into her life.
