I'm not sure, I never got a chance to try carrots when I lived in El Paso but I was told they'd do okay since they rather like poor soil, and we had the worst soil ever. XD Herbs would be /wonderful/ to have growing, I keep trying for mint, parsley and basil and none of it wants to germinate so far. Boo. Good luck!
