Comments: So, background of this fic - their boss, also known as Jefe/Rico/Ranger - has recently been shot by a Very Suicidal Idiot (also known as the Scrog Incident for those who know the fandom). Scrog basically wanted to become Ranger so he kidnapped his daughter, assumed Ranger's name/persona, and went after his not!girlfriend, Stephanie Plum. He gave Stephanie a choice, she can warn Ranger about an ambush and the daughter dies, or she can let him walk in and the daughter lives. She chooses the latter, but he's a BAMF that planned ahead and wore a 'vest. But, after this incident, it's known he has a daughter and he decides the school she goes to (and several others nearby, to muddy the waters) needs better security. And hey, he owns a security firm, so why not. Thus, this fic...

I was not sulking. At all. I ignored the amusement coming from Silvio and kept staring straight ahead. A few of Jefe's minions kept a wary eye on me while they packed up their vehicles. If I'd been quicker, I wouldn't be in this mess. What kind of sorry excuse of a sniper LOSES a shooting competition? Now I'm stuck working with a bunch of idiots who didn't even have the foresight to pack their gear for a job ahead of time. ( At least I don't have to actually pay attention to them. Being known as someone ignorant of English had it's upsides. )

Somewhere, Natasha is facepalming while Coulson tries not to react. Because if he does, Barton will just take it as encouragement...
