I just watched the first episode of TRON: Uprising and I have to say, Disney has an interesting show on their hands!

Overall, the animation is gorgeous, although I'm not sure how I feel about the character animation. The faces are kind of ugly-ish. It has a very stylized look, maybe it'll grow on me.

The story and characters: gotta love a good "Masked renegade fights for justice" story! Beck is kind of a generic good guy right now, maybe he'll be further developed as the series goes on. In fact, his friends are pretty generic too. They get grabbed by the bad guys at one point and I thought to myself, "Oh no, the minor characters I have no investment in because they've barely had any screentime." I like the lady villain, though, she's pretty cool.

I did enjoy this pilot episode, though, despite the generic characters and basic storyline. It was fun and engaging, and oh boy does it feel good to have new TRON canon! I'll do a more detailed writeup later. In hindsight, I probably should have watched this one before watching the newest episode of Legend of Korra, because hot damn that's a hard act to follow.

In other news, the Zumba fun continues in full force! I went to another class tonight with a different instructor-- new-ish guy who's only been teaching for a year, but he's great. And I might have a ridiculous crush on him or something WHAT WHO SAID THAT LIES AND SLANDER. Anyway, I'd mentioned to him in a Facebook message that I was working on some new Zumba choreography and he suggested I demonstrate it for him during class this week. So before class he put on the song that I'm using and I started my routine, and then after a few second he jumped in with me and was dancing to my choreo with me. HOW ABOUT YES.
