Post Written While At Work...

Today I worked on making slides for the 'winner' television screens at the casino where I work. These televisions show the winners of $1000 or more to advertise the casino's payouts and to give the players their due. That's all you really need to know for this story.

The slides can be one of two background colors, coordinating (mostly) with the casino's earthy decor. The background colors are black or orange. I alternate them as I go, so that there's a mostly even number of each when they're turned into a slide show and popped onto the TV screens. So that the guy who feeds these into the slide show can tell just by the filename which color they are, the finished slides are named "black_winnername.jpg" or "orange_winnername.jpg"

It occurred to me, after a "black_danny.jpg" and a "black_ana.jpg" and so on, that even if a "Betty" shows up in this list at the point where I should be alternating to orange, she is going to be on a black background. JUST so I can name the file "black_betty.jpg". Heh. To give my supervisor a snicker, I may call it "(whoa)black_betty(bambalam).jpg"

And of course - a Betty appeared.
