IN MY HEAD! ARGHHHH! !&%$%§!

What I can't recommend: Beer, wine, punch in great quantities mixed all up in your tummy. No seriously, don't do it!

Yes, I had a hangover from hell yesterday, but I hope you all had a nice holiday. Today it's the second day of Christmas (still a holiday in Germany) which is traditionally turkey day in our family (on the German version of Thanksgivings Day there is usually duck or goose served). Even if my head didn't really explode yesterday, my stomach surely will soon. On Christmas Eve delicious beef filet with onions, yesterday yummy yummy roasted venison, today aunt's turkey with dumplings, I might be in food heaven (or hell) already.

What I can recommend: The Yuletide story I got. Things Half In Shadow (Are Halfway In Light) OMG!!11!1 *is dead from awesome*
It's Stephen King - The Dark Tower Series and it's... It's perfect.
Summary: After Jake's arrival in Mid-World, the ka-tet negotiates new boundaries. Rated: PG-13 (3682 words)
There is sweet Eddie/Suze and even Roland/Jake and... and... just read it okay? *hyperventilates*

I'll now go back to the archive too and read more James Bond porn (never mind that I haven't watched the new movies and have not the slightest idea who this Felix person is. Him fucking James is still hot). :P

Thank you so much for doing this! From my prompts it maybe sounds like I'm a little bit crazy. Well, that's true, but I'm harmless crazy, not scary crazy, I swear!  Have a few more specifics about my requested fandoms:

Witchblade (tv)

The good news is that you can write pretty much whatever you want because I actually don't remember much about the show, except that I was instantly hooked because of it being so wonderfully fucked up and having a real great complex believable female hero for once. Doesn't prevent this slashgirl from slashing the boys of the show of course, but three- or moresomes with Sara would be appreciated too. I have not the foggiest idea about the comic. Well, I saw a cover once and that were some um ... gigantic interesting boobies, but other then that it's just the regretably few tv episodes produced for you to work with. If porn isn't your thing that's no problem either. It's hardly your fault that I'm a pervert.

Stephen King - The Dark Tower series

I WAS NOT SERIOUS ABOUT THE JAKE/ROLAND CHAN! (Well maybe). NO REALLY don't run away screaming just yet! (I sometimes scare myself). This is one of the very few things of Stephen King I like. Because, well, King is a horror author and horror is one of the only squicks I have. But The Dark Tower series is his only mildly horrifying  fantasy work and I love it. What I can say is, that I don't really care about the "Western" motives (i.e. Roland's past) of the series, but am way into gigantic decaying robot bears, and psychopathic trains, and strange portals to different worlds, and raping tentacle demons. Despite not having read the parts 5-7 I know vagually what's going on. I don't think Stephen King showing up in the series is a horrible thing (the Harry Potter stuff is a bit over the top though IMHO).

The Persuaders (tv)

Squee-Squee-Squee-Squee-Squee-Squeeeeeeeeeee!!! Thus sums up my feelings for this fandom. And it was last year's Yuletide Challenge that brought me (back) to it, no less. Brett and Danny is love. Show me something of that love (in what way you can) and I'll be happy. If you're a slasher: The slash stories in my head always have them come together rather later that sooner, so maybe a different take on an possible early hook up of the boys could be interesting for me.

Quantum Leap

I can not be very helpful here I'm afraid. That show just pushes the right buttons for me. Give me Time Travel and I'm a gooner. Plus Al totally has a (man)crush on Sam and Sam totally has feelings in return as far as I'm concerned. They are just to macho/traumatized/homophobic, shy/nerdy/prudish respectively to fess up. I got a great New Years Resolution story (Desert Rain) by Legion this year, but I can't get enough of this fandom.

I hope you can have fun with this!

The passing of prop 8 in California on the other hand is EPIC FAIL!!! (And this is a traditional relationship phobic person speaking, but you don't fuck with civil rights, assholes!)

As for my yuletide assignment ... I'm fucked. And for a totally different reason than I thought I was fucked too. My icon doesn't quite hit it. That assignment machine is rigged, I tells ya! *demands recount* *freaks out quitely in the corner*

Dear Yuletide Writer: My condolence "Santa" letter should be following soon. Stay tuned.

Since I studied the stuff (art history) for a while, I thought I would give it a try. Why is this internet Rorschach stuff always so creeply accurate? I love Impressionism. It has a very soothing, meditative effect on me.

Your result for What Your Taste in Art Says About You Test...

Balanced, Secure, and Realistic.
16 Impressionist, 11 Islamic, 1 Ukiyo-e, -18 Cubist, -10 Abstract and -8 Renaissance!

Impressionism is a movement in French painting, sometimes called optical realism because of its almost scientific interest in the actual visual experience and effect of light and movement on appearance of objects. Impressionist paintings are balanced, use colored shadows, use pure color, broken brushstrokes, thick paint, and scenes from everyday life or nature. Emphasize mine, because that's a very big part of the appeal to me, I think.

People that like Impressionist paintings may not alway be what is deemed socially acceptable. They tend to move on their own path without always worrying that it may be offensive to others. They value friendships but because they also value honesty tend to have a few really good friends. They do not, however, like people that are rude and do not appreciate the ideas of others. They are secure enough in themselves that they can listen to the ideas of other people without it affecting their own final decisions. The world for them is not black and white but more in shades of grey and muted colors. They like things to be aestically pleasing, not stark and sharp. There are many ways to view things, and the impresssionist personality views the world from many different aspects. They enjoy life and try to keep a realistic viewpoint of things, but are not very open to new experiences. If they are content in their live they will be more than likely pleased to keep things just the way they are.

Okay, that was more three month than three weeks, sorry about that, but now it's time for the recap
of the episode that gave [info]persuaders71 its name (#19 in production) and definitely one of the late ones.

I was never far away, really. Just er... I was just over there, hiding behind the ... um couch. Yeah, that sounds like a totally reasonable excuse for almost three month of being AWOL. Right?

In other news, my Sims are stupid. Here is photographical evidence:

See Dustin Broke setting his ass on fire with the Freetime toy-train. No, there was no sprinkler or fire alarm system in that room and it took Angela like forever to pull out the extinguisher, so you can probably guess what happened to him.

Okay, every three weeks then, but here comes the next recap. The Long Goodbye was episode (#18) in production, but if not for A Death in the Family I would consider this the last one. I'm not sure if it's Danny's wilde, whitish hair or that old married couple feeling I get from the episode, probably both. The Long Goodbye was directed by Roger Moore and has a guest appearance of his daughter Deborah.

So, um, when was it that I promised screenshot recaps of all episodes to the fandom? Late January the community archive says. Oh my, I'm so lame. But finally I've gotten started and will hopefully be able to post an episode per week (or every second week at least) from now on. I'll do this in my reversed order of the episodes, because I'm special like that. Well that, and a few of the early episodes have been discussed already.

A Death in the Family is considered the last episode of the series by many fans, and I'm no exception. It was the second to last produced episode (#23), The Man in the Middle being the last one (#24).

One more kilt joke and I'm going to kill him.

Beware the heavy screencap output under the cut ... )

... you dream the weirdest fannish shit ever.

It started out harmless enough with some emo-angsty Highlander stuff, probably because I read on fandom-lounge about that remake somebody wants to make of the first movie (boo!) and then suddenly everything morphes into this obscene Stargate SG-1 PWP (The fuck? I don't even watch/read that show).

The SG-1 team was held hostage on a spaceship (station?) where they were forced to work as sexslaves for the crew. They seemed to really like it too. No seriously. There were orgies and at one point Daniel gave Jack a blowjob in a locker-room, having spouted off techno-babble as foreplay. Then I came woke up. O.O

This is the first year that I actually watch the Semifinals and all I have to say is: "Was für ein Scheiß!"

Of my top 10 (below) only Norway, Israel, Romania and Armenia made it. What does this tell me? That I've really gotten to old for the ESC in its present form?

Who knows? Will go to bed cranky now.

1. Norway
2. Netherlands
3. Andorra (Yes the outfit was horrifying, but I like the song.)
4. Belgium
5. Slovenia
6. Israel
7. Moldau
8. Armenia
9. San Marino
10. Romania

You know what's adorable? Witnessing your almost seventy year old, grumpy, bitter, sometimes rather assholish father turn into a smiley faced, exitedly squeeing and flailing five year old in front of your eyes. What is needed for such a pleasant transformation to take place?

This:

He found him while cleaning the garden pond. My mother named him "Flecki" (Spotty) and he stayed a bit with us in dad's old terrarium. Dad later brought him into the nearby forest and put him into a puddle, because he wouldn't eat the earthworms we offered him and the pond cleaning will take some time.

Isn't he a cutie? More pictures of "Flecki" and our graden in springtime here

You Oliver/Christian people have got to be kidding me?

When this new fannish German Soap Opera phenomenon on (and off) lj first showed up via [info]frogspace on my friendslist, I had to do quite a few double takes.

Posts: Blablabla Verbotene Liebe gay storylines awesomecakes!!11!1
Me: Whut?!
Posts: Blablabla Oliver/Christian so cute omg!
Me: Who?! *looks up* Holy shit, it's really the same Oliver (Jo Weil) from seven years ago! o.o

I think I've mentioned it before, German daytimesoaps were pretty much my first ever online fandoms from 1999 to 2002 or so. Unsurprisingly it were only the gay storylines back then that got me into the mess. Yes, we had them back then too. With hot seXX0rs even. So the first thing I thought about Oliver/Christian was of course: Ha! I bet their scenes are not as hot as Tom/Ulli was. I stipulated this from the way they toned it down with Tom/Oliver later on the show, probably because of the predictable BUTWHATABOUTTHECHILLUNS!? WHOPUTTHATGAYPORNINMYDAILYSOAP!? reactions back in 2000.

So to possibly prove my point sometime, I digged out my old vhs tapes, put up some clips on my youtube account, and wham ... D:
Really kids, I'm to old for this Web 2.0 shit! Almost a thousand hits overnight? And the mob is demanding translations? Bu-but colloquial English is HARD!? Of course I translated the crappy German dialogues anyway. You can find the transcripts here.

Now also for my flist to marvel at, the probably most gay "first time" scene on a German daytimesoap ever:

Tom/Ulli, New Years Eve 1999/2000

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=tJZzfaz0YNE

Lets just hope that Oliver/Christian break that record with their third or fourth time, right?

So, are some of my native-English-speaker flisters maybe a bit bored over the weekend and could quick-beta some stuffes for me, even if they have no idea about the fandom (Persuaders)?

It's three slash ficlets, together approx. 3000 words (PG13-R).

You would just have to look over the syntax, word use, and grammar (tenses), and compensate that I really suck at punctuation.

Pretty please? *flutters with eyelashes*

What's with the people who still post very common screen/promo-shots of a fandom put through photoshop and claim they drew them? Newbies the lot of them? Am I just old and jaded?

See, I can't draw for shit either and hence love diddling around with screens and photoshop filters too. And guess what, if I find something looks really cool I'll post it as photoshop fanart. What's so difficult about that? Oh wait, it's not as reputable in fancircles (lying is not all that reputable in fancircles either, just saying). Who cares? Seriously people, stand by your pirated photoshop copy! Claiming your art is a drawing when it's obviously not just makes me roll my eyes and click the ole back button, but if you tell me which filter you used for this or that effect, I'll squee and love you forever. But I don't count, I guess. *sighs*

PS: Despite this little rant, stuff like that doesn't bother me much, I just find it totally unnecessary.

PPS: Still sick. Yeah. That flu is helluvah clingy. *coughs*
