Ignore previous version of this post. I do try very hard not to stir up drama, honestly.
For the record, I screened the only comment that I consider to be truly hurtful, out of all 14,000 comments, the moment I saw it. I also apologize to Maygra and her friends for any hurt they may have received as a result of my meme. I did not know any of the history behind the supernatural meme, and the comment when I read it initially did not strike me as hateful in any way - it struck me as embarrassed. I understand how it was interpreted, though, and I do apologize very sincerely to Maygra.
I also apologize to Esorlehcar for the fact that someone posted one of her filtered posts to the meme.
I meant what I said earlier. This meme will be the last anon meme that I ever do. It is impossible to have an intelligent discussion about the nature of hate. So I am removing myself from the argument. Causing hurt to anyone is the last thing I have ever intended these memes to do, and I have learned the lesson I should have learned six months ago.
ETA, for what it's worth: I was already intending to make the memes private and/or go through and screen out every hurtful thing I could find. I was already planning making some sort of privatization. It was just that this was the last push I needed, along with many private requests from anons on the meme itself, to delete it altogether. Sorry. |
