| 10:14 pm | Exhausted from outrage [Public to Est members] I was livid all day after reading this little gem. It has been revealed now how a young boy was systematically subjected to what any sane person would regard as prolonged emotional and physical abuse, all in the interest of making him more 'masculine'. And also of how that same person would take his own life decades later. Best of all, though, is the bit how the guy instigating the 'therapy' also turns out to have hired a male prostitute to accompany him on a trip - insert disclaimers and denials (and other things, clearly) here. Of course, hypocrisy and oppression have never been mutually exclusive. The whole thing is simply monstrous, and I think I'm going to just play with my dog for a few hours and try really hard not to break anything. |

Just an odd question from the brain of The Brody - which might be kind of redundant, but anyway. Has anyone ever thought about running for public office, or actually done it? I'm speaking primarily to my actor/musician brethren (sistren?), since I'm guessing that we've some actual politicians in these parts as well. Not that I've had such thoughts myself, but then again I was captain of the debate team in school. Ok, co-captain. |

To those in the know, though, it contained a certain store, quaintly named The Wipeout. In this certain store, a certain former TV geekthrob (who was still quite youthful and attractive, thank you) often came for his surf and beach-related purchases. ( This is all part of my cunning plan to get a free smoothie. ) |

Tis December, and that means that the holidays are nearly upon us and stuff. So, I have a idea. It's not an original idea but it's crazy and potentially fun in this context! How about a Secret Santa thing for the members? Nothing too elaborate, of course. *holds up 'Not really loaded' sign* Anyway, I think it could be a great chance for merriment and general silliness. And, no, I'm not drunk. I am sitting on my couch wearing a reindeer costume, though. |

| 6:37 pm | Adam replies to Shane est_shaneAdam had been absently playing tug-o-war with Ryan over a knotted sock when he saw Shane's email. Reading it, his hand opened, the sock falling free. He read the message twice, then read it again a few more times. He began a reply with slightly shaky hands, then retrieved his cell and opened it. Shane's number was prominent in the dialing list, which was good as Adam probably couldn't scroll very effectively at the moment. He muttered as it went to voice mail, but wasn't really surprised .... Dude, yeah, it's Brody .... I just saw your ... dude, I'm so sorry. Are you .... no, of course you aren't ok .... look, call me, ok? If you want, I'll come and get you - just say the word .... you can stay here and we can ... well, we can talk about it, if you want ... ... I'll try again later ... ok, call me? Adam closed the phone down, his hand still shaky. Setting it down on the table, he went and sat down on the couch. Ryan immediately hopped into his lap, of course, and Adam hugged the small dog. "It's bad, little guy ... just bad." |
