( He doesn't even shrug Taylor's hand off when he feels it lie heavy on his shoulder and squeeze. Taylor Kitsch has latched on to Jared sort of like a little brother, even though Taylor is older. Despite Jared's resolve not to get too involved with the others, he's found himself helping Taylor adjust to life at the compound. As much as he can, anyway. With Jensen otherwise occupied lately — and that is a bitter bile in Jared's throat that no amount of wine can wash down — they've even struck up a shaky friendship, Jared quickly clueing into the fact that there is much more to Taylor than a pretty face. )

I just finished our taxes with a Tax software package. We haven't used one of these in years because we've had screwed up finances for so many years, we've let our accountant do our returns.

Well, things were pretty straight forward this year. We had our W2s (and not even very many!), charitable donations, mortgage interest and home office expenses. I figured I could do it because our accountant has grown quite a bit over the years, as have his fees.

So, we're getting a return. A subtantial return. And now all I can think of is what did I do wrong?

*bites nails*

Or at least in 2008.

No apartment work AT ALL today. Instead I am doing a bit of housecleaning (just enough that I won't be totally embarrassed when my guests arrive later). Nothing too strenuous. Kitchen floor and dust mopping the hardwood floors. They can deal with the dust on the furniture because I'm out of swiffers.

Got up and made a triple batch of banana nut bread because I had a whole BUNCH of bananas go bad. That will teach me to put them in the bowl under the wine rack and forget about them.

My house smells like brussel sprouts. No, wait! Come back! Wolfie makes really really good brussel sprouts. I never liked them till he fixed them for me. First he renders about two pounds of bacon (possibly an exaggeration but not by much) in BUTTER. Then he throws in three sliced onions and five or six crushed garlic cloves. All this cooks a bit on top of the stove until it's smelly and my mouth waters. Then he puts in the trimmed brussel sprouts and pours enough chicken stock in the pan to come half way up the sprouts. Seasons with whatever and puts in the oven for 45 minutes. Guh!! Too bad he took them with him to play D&D (yes, he's a total dork-geek).

In three hours, annezo and ruthless1 will be here and we shall knit while watching (and mocking) Dante's Cove. Then watch Becoming Jane. And I shall commit asparagus risotto!

Does this not sound like the best Sunday ever.

Oh, and I'm still in my jammies and having blue corn chips, salsa and wine for brunch. And my love of the Apocalypse goes unabated. I found a seller on Amazon who had both Escapde from LA and NY, All three Mad Max movies and The Postmas, for under $30 (for all). I ordered them, yes I did!

Can I just say YAY for it being Friday and a good hair day. Plus, I'm wearing a brown suede skirt, kicky Born boots and a blue long sleeve t-shirt with velvet neck and wrist trim. I'm easily pleased today and it shows, and you know what? I don't care!!

Is it October yet? It must be, right? I have THINGS I wan to do and plan for Wincon and I can't wait to see all my girls again and smoosh you all to my bosoms! 

Today for lunch, I'm meeting Wolfie for Peruvian. Should be fun, but I'm starving and not sure I can wait much longer before I gnaw my arm off. 

I've committed knitting and am not ashamed. Phear my knitting needles!! 

Steampunk. Why is it so popular and give me a good reason that our boys might time travel to a Victorian Apocalypse era? GO!

OMGMYBODY!!! After 24 hours of work in the basement this weekend, we have a state of livability and our tenants spent their first night. But, man, my body is pissed at me this morning. And we have finishing touches like paint and baseboards to do next weekend. But yay!! TENANTS with real money coming in *crosses fingers* to pay for this monstrous renovation job.

And please don't ask what the going price is for rewiring an old house up to code or I will go back in the corner and start whimpering again.

Also, SO BEHIND on LJ. If there is something I NEED to see, please let me know. Seriously, I don't t hink I can possibly catch up at this point. Then tonight, I start trying to figure out this weird software that will partition our router so that we have secure network up here, but the tenants can have wireless too. Wish me luck!

I am  totally making special brownies this weekend. I've been good and worked my ass off every night and weekend for a month. I deserve it!!

Sorry I've been absent so much. I'm actually being very non-fannish lately because of RL, but I still love my Supernatural like whoa, despite the wankiness of fandom. But, I've actually been posting in my private blog more than JF or LJ combined lately.

Someone make me a pattern for this, please? What will it take? I'm sort of running out of sexual favors, but hey, I do felted bowls. *g*

Bacon Scarf

I got the hiring packet in the mail from the company I start with on Monday. They are VERY specific about the "No personal email, internet use, even of the checking of internet email addreses, such as yahoo, msn, etc." I'm starting to hyperventilate just thinking about it again.

What shall I do? I haven't worked somewhere I couldn't check my persona email during the day since...well, I got a personal email address. Do you think they're really serious or just kinda serious? No, really. This could be the end of the universe for me!!!

*checks watch*

I so don't care about wank and drama right now. I'm totally swamped with work and yet, am curiously not interested in working at all. Instead I am:

* cruising amazon for recs
* reading J2 schmoop
* writing dumb stuff I have no business writing
* shopping for yarn on-line
* researching how to build a flour mill (don't ask)
* checking real estate prices for land in Port Townsend, WA

All in no particular order.

Oh, and we had such joyous news tonight! We finally had it with contractor-boy and fired him and had some PROFESSIONALS come in to give us quotes for finishing the basement. Heh.

The electric wiring he did was good, so there's that, however, the whole main box outside is so overloaded already, it needs to be rewired and replaced with a bigger capacity breaker box or our house WILL BURN DOWN. This can be fixed for the reasonable rate of $3000!!!!!

So, I got that going for me. PLUS... marinarusalka is knitting me fingerless gloves so my fingers won't fucking freeze at the keyboard anymore. *hugs and smooches her Sweet charity Ho neck*
