11:55 am - Something to do at work, at least
Okay, so I won't have internet at home for the next week, at least, so it's seriously time to be using this journal as a thought-dump.

In fact, I think I'm going to start transferring a lot of my old livejournal posts here anyway.

Now's your chance to do Hottie-sensei!

I actually meant to type "help." Now's your chance to help Hottie-sensei. Wow, I don't know how I managed to mess that up, honestly. Couldn't possibly be Freudian or anything.

Anyway, Hottie-sensei teaches health classes and phys ed, and is suddenly very interested in the packaging on American cigarettes. Specifically, he is interested in how tobacco companies must print warnings on the boxes regarding health risks. He'd like to have a box of such cigarettes or two to show his classes while teaching a unit on smoking and drinking. (I don't think that Japan has similar surgeon general's warnings, though it's not like I smoke so I really wouldn't know.)

Hottie-sensei has promised to reimburse the cost of the cigarettes, though he's hoping someone will send me some with a package they were going to send me anyway (so hey Mom, in case you ever do get that Easter basket you were talking about together for me...). He also promised that the cigarettes themselves would not go to waste, as he has friends who will smoke them. Totes. He might even smoke some himself! Except not too many, because he's the health teacher, after all.

And then he spent the next ten minutes trying to pronounce "cigar" and "cigarette" correctly.

Shigar.

Shigarette.

Er, so, yeah, if anyone wants to help him out, drop me an email and we'll see what we can do.

12:44 pm - We're gonna step and go
I won't be able to get internet back into my apartment until Thursday at the soonest. So, in light of this whole "backup blog" thing, I may as well start posting my brain thoughts before they escape into the ether.

current mood: okay

1:02 pm - Start of Something Not Actually That New
So I've got this little problem of "no functioning internet at home." It happens sometimes, usually when I neglect to pay my bills in a timely manner. The unfortch thing about that is two of my main internet addictions, namely Livejournal (I must read about the shenanigans of people whose faces I've never seen! I must also keep them updated on my burps!) and Blogspot (which is where I keep my family updated on life events slightly classier than burps) are both blocked at work. Work, where the internet works. Yes. Boo.

For whatever reason, though, Journal Fen squeaks past the firewall. Probably because it is good at the "not being a well-known website with millions of users designed for the express purpose of internet communication." I mean, it is designed for the express purpose of internet communication (and also for pointing and laughing at strangers, if you frequent the wank comms), but it keeps a low enough profile that whoever is in charge of my workplaces firewall has yet to catch on.

So, with this in mind, I'm going to start posting here. I don't know what exactly I'll post - probably just the pointless stuff that comes across my mind while I'm at work, maybe posts that I'll post elsewhere later, whatevs - but hey, if this is somewhere I can go to ramble, I may as well use it.
