Russet Noon: Chapter 1 Will Be Released in English, Portuguese and Spanish
AV Paranormal will be releasing the first chapter of the novel Russet Noon in three different languages: English, Portuguese and Spanish. Chapter 1 is out this Tuesday, June 2 at midnight (Pacific) at russet-noon.com and foforks.com.br/


FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 02, 2009 – Although AV Paranormal had originally planned to release the first chapter of Russet Noon on June 1, the final decision was to release it at the same time as the Brazilian site, Foforks.

Foforks will be releasing the Portuguese version this June 2 at midnight, Pacific time. AV Paranormal will also be releasing the English version at the same time, but the Spanish version will be released next week, also on the Russet Noon Official Site.

It is very possible that more chapters will be released online throughout the summer, and AV Paranormal is seriously considering the possibility of delaying the publication of the book until November to coincide with the theater release of the movie sequel to Twilight, New Moon.

AV Paranormal is also planning a contest for readers to win free tickets to see the movie sequel to Twilight, New Moon. Details about the contest will be revealed on the Russet Noon Official Website in October 2009.

Lady Sybilla Apologizes to Stephenie Meyer for Writing Russet Noon

On April 30th, Lady Sybilla sent a letter of apology to Stephenie Meyer. Today, the letter is declassified for the first time since it was sent.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) – May 10, 2009 – Much controversy has surrounded the tribute novel Russet Noon since its upcoming publication was announced.  According to blog reports, Stephenie Meyer's reps at Little, Brown in the U.K. are "well aware" of the novel already (http://twilight-to-breakingdawn.blogspot.com/2009/03/rus ...).

For this reason, Lady Sybilla made a final decision about Russet Noon and left its ultimate fate in Stephenie Meyer's hands.  She wrote Ms. Meyer a letter of apology and let her know that she would be willing to shut down the project permanently if she asked her to.

The AV Paranormal team decided to give it a few days until the letter arrived at the New York office of Little, Brown to disclose it.  Now, for the first time since the letter was sent on April 30th, 2009, it is released to the public.  The letter is as follows:

Dear Ms. Meyer:

My name is Glorianna Arias and my pen name is Lady Sybilla.  I understand some of your fans may have been contacting you to complain about my novel, Russet Noon.

First and foremost, I want to apologize to you for having started such an uproar.  In all honesty, I never imagined there would be so strong and massive a reaction on the part of Twilight fans all over the Internet.  

I want to assure you that my only intention was to pay tribute to you and your story by turning Jacob into a superhero.  I know I had no right to do this, no matter how much I loved your characters.  I have no excuse for my actions.  From the bottom of my heart, I am truly sorry.

By this means, I want to ask if you would please allow me to publish Russet Noon as a paperback.  I assure you that I will only print 50 copies to give away to people for free.  I will cover all publication costs and will never try to sell it.  Let this letter attest to that.  

However, if you prefer for me to shut down the project altogether, I will understand your position.  It is your story, and they are your characters.  If you ask me to shut it down, I will do so immediately.  All I want to do at this point is make things right.  

Please let me know how you want me to proceed.  Thanks very much for your time.

It appears that Russet Noon has already achieved taboo status without having even been released yet. That's what happens when a Darth Vader figure like Lady Sybilla is created. And now she's found a worthy opponent: Peter David.

RLog (Press Release) – Apr 23, 2009 – Fandom is raging over the arrival of a new public enemy number one.  Step aside, Charles Manson.  You, too, Osama Bin Laden.  This is the beginning of a new evil empire: the reign of terror of Lady Sybilla, the New Millennium Darth Vader.  

She is the Dragon Mother of ancient myths, the one who rises from the depths of the Earth to wipe out an entire civilization.  She is Nemesis and Binah, the terrible mother, the bringer of death and destruction.  She brings her hideous progeny into the light, Russet Noon, having created it in her workshop of filthy creation--the most disturbing corners of her twisted imagination.

If anybody dares to get in her way, she will zap you stupid for several seconds with her arsenal of awkward titles.  Or perhaps she'll blow you to pieces with a grenade of more melodrama than all of Vh1's "I Love" Shows put together.  Like Evil Uncle Scar, she promises to all the hyenas conspiring to destroy her: "Stick with me, and you'll never go hungry again.  Join the Dark Side and you shall sell your fanfiction and get away with it."

She was unstoppable until two days ago, when the sky darkened with the return of a right-wing conservative, a President-Bush type of guy who just doesn't wanna let go of the old ways.  Peter David is Sybilla's new worthy opponent.  He is a comic-book author and Trekkie geek who refuses to retire and is still trying to be a hero after all these years.

Peter David' s Potato Moon is the self-proclaimed leader of a new movement.  More of an Inquisition, really.  A glorious mob aching to bully a lone ranger, indie self-publisher, into exhile.  And with his new communal novel, Potato Moon, Peter David might just succeed at an endeavor at which many have failed so far.  Let's see if after all those years of struggling for the lime light, he finally becomes a household name.  Before that, however, he must make his attack vicious enough to make Sybilla give up on publishing the Seed of Satan.

While she represents the change that is about to come, he tries to stop the inevitable.  December 2012 is near.  Civilization is about to undergo a transformational crisis.  There will be chaos like Vietnam, but there will also be a great artistic movement like Woodstock to balance it.  This is the beginning of a New Aquarian Age--the first era of history when a minority President has just taken over the White House with the blessing of the people.

Well, we all should have known it wouldn't be long before Lady Sybilla updated the Russet Noon webpage and put out another press release (http://www.prlog.org/10217956-russet-noon-the-apple-of-knowledge-or-the-forbidden-fruit.html).

She opens with a potshot at us, Lee Goldberg, general internet users, and authors/critics who have actually been published, you know, based on their own original merits. (Also, she's maybe spearheading a new artistic movement, apparently completely based on riding other peoples' coattails. If she doesn't watch where she points her spear, she's gonna poke Stephenie Meyer in the bum, and hard.)

She goes on to inform us that every character is every other character, and nothing is original. Wait, what?

Also we all share a Universal Mind, and nobody has an individual mind? (Warning: do not accept kool-aid from this woman.)

For as long as our minds are enslaved by the belief that the archetypal world can be commercialized, we are the victims of a lie, a smokescreen, an ideology, a matrix. We must free our minds from this lie. Characters don't belong to authors. Authors don't create characters. They merely channel them. Characters are recurring universal archetypes. The only thing that changes is their names and identities, but their essence is always the same.

I really honestly thought for a while there that she was honestly mistaken about copyright law, and trying too hard to be professional while being to obstinate to actually give up her goal. I read this and realize, oh, no, she really do be crazy. Do be do be do.

Then Lady Sybilla thought it might be a good idea to comment (http://www.twilightlexicon.com/2009/04/08/whose-characters-are-they-anyway/comment-page-1/#comment-180224) on that latest Twilight Lexicon post concerning her actions.
