Re: the Russet Moon wank.

Note the Amazon Affiliate ads all over the russet-noon site.

Note that the traffic she'll be getting from this wank will be heavily weighted toward the "Twilight interested"

Note that the DVD came out *this week*, and many of those who are interested in Twilight would be buying the DVD anyway, and are therefore far more likely than average unfiltered traffic on an average week to buy something through her links.

Note that everyone who links to her russet noon site with twilight keywords will driving her google rank up (and if she gets a couple links from high Pagerank sites, which is likely, she'll probably keep getting traffic long after she backs down to S Meyer's lawyers.

I'm not doubting that authorial hubris and attention whoring are likely the primary factors, but it's a brilliant scam to make buttload of money off of timing, controversy and the basic math of affiliate programs, regardless of whether the book ever comes to fruition. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if it was all bullshit designed to get the Amazon affiliate $.
