This past week has been EXHAUSTING! The new Apple Store I transferred to FINALLY opened, which means I worked lots of hours last week and.. almost 12 hours yesterday. It was really fantastic and I've been having a great time, but, oh my GOD, am I tired. I really just want to sleep for, like, a year.
In other news, I was finally able to replace my old G4 Powerbook with a shiny new Macbook. It's really awesome! I've got VMWare Fusion running Windows XP, just to play around with it, and I have to say that I am really loving it. I think I will probably end up getting some more RAM for it, because I think that'll help my performance on The Sims, etc, but it's so much faster and nicer than my old powerbook was. And pretty, too!!
Plus, running windows, I can use Semagic really easily now! It integrates right with my native OS, so it's like I'm not REALLY running Windows at all. FTW!

So far, I've got the black hard shell from InCase on it, the Marware Protection Pack, and a black and white keyboard protector/cover by KB Covers. Soooo pretty. I also splurged on a Red Nano to go with it, which is seriously the cutest thing ever.
In other news... South Dakota in July! Wheee! Were having a bog family thing and I have my vacation time officially aproved, so I'll be booking my flights soon. Am either taking the great spoiled one (aka Narcissa) with me or leaving her with Crystal in Blackshear, whichever looks to work out best.
So.. Florida is good. Life is good. I'll be driving up to Georgia next week to visit Crystal on my off days, which is going to be awesome. For this week? I'm working on selling the old Powerbook and straightening some things up around my apartment. Funtimes, indeed! |

Went to the doctor today and he confirmed I am about 50% better. Which means I look and sound better and my sinuses aren't as swollen, but I'm still not completely well, of course. So I'm still doing the sprays and antihistamines and things, going back in another 3 weeks for a follow-up. Good news, I suppose.
I'm still averaging about 9-10 hours of sleep a night (when I don't have to get up sooner, like I did both yesterday and today), which I think is helping, so I'm continuing this new trend of going to bed by midnight, if not before.
I've also discovered that drinking coffee really irritates my sinuses/cough, so no more coffee/caffeine for me until I am completely over my sinus issues. Also, my doctor rocks for giving me free samples rather than a prescription that I would have to pay for.
3 days off this week, thanks to Thanksgiving. Today, I need to do some laundry and some relaxing, maybe a little RP stuff if I feel up to it. Work tomorrow and then I have another two days off. I have Thanksgiving plans with the roommate, so that should be fun.
Also.. very much in need of a new mattress. Do any of you LA local people have any good suggestions for a good place to get a quality/comfortable mattress (and boxspring, possibly) without spending too much money? Funds are low, but I do need to do it and, aside from IKEA, I'm not entirely sure where to look for a good deal.
My baby sister is married now. I officially feel old.
Also, my head hurts and I am hungry, so I think I'll go see to that now. |

So, I got my copies of iLife and iWork '08 last night after work and oh my god, are they AWESOME. I've just created myself a budget using Numbers. And I've been reorganizing my photos and am now creating my web gallery using iPhoto. It's pretty sweet! The look is fantastic, as always, but the programs also work really, really well. I still wish Apple would build an import feature into iWeb, but you can't have everything and, really, I'm just having a good time playing. It's a good way to spend the day, seeing as how I'm still not feeling very well.
Boo, cold. I'm really ready to be over this thing now.

Work was mildly annoying tonight. Another one of those shifts where I didn't actually GET my last break. Funtimes. I'm stuffing my face and catching up on emails, and then I think I'll go to BED.
