Hey, we'll make a book of fanfic and send it to the creators!
In SPN fandom, Tahirire has created a comm called spn_legacy to organize her attempt to create a compilation of fanfic... to present to the actors and other creators.

When she makes a post giving people the option to opt out, people finally begin to take interest in the project.

There's just not much real wank yet, otherwise I would post it to the comm (maybe when Tahirire replies?) but I just kind of boggle at her for being plugged into the fanfic scene yet not knowing of the controversality of her project, to say the least.

Speaking of SPN, I wonder what the story is behind this suggestion? (entirely unrelated, but same fandom)

For the last one, no idea, but I assume whatever the problem was took place around the end of April. She locked the last chapter of some epic story she was writing around that time (now unlocked), and not long after defriended people. She's also started locking all of her personal posts (she mentioned it, and posts which are no longer visible are visible there).

I can't find anything in the spnstoryfinders community around that time, though... but it's a really active community, so I could have missed it.

My guess is that the community linked to her story and she saw people talking about it who didn't leave her reviews, or were negative about the content, or talked about disliking her personal posts. That's really all I can think of.

Might be findable as an old post on wank_report.

Yeah, I tried flipping around that comm looking for something, but I didn't find anything either.

I often wonder how LJ culture would change if we had a really effective referral system.

ZOMG!!! Gasp, people who do not leave reviews?!?! How shocking.

I know.

When people said, "OMG! Friend me plz so I can read the end!!" she responded with a canned message telling them she wanted comments. So, I'm assuming that may be a portion of the problem.

Well, I guess she's honest at least. The suggestions post really annoyed me because we have discussed ad nauseum those issues.

Eh, I guess she feels she can get away with holding her stories hostage for comments because she has a relatively large readership.

Could be.

The other woman has responded to all her comments, by the way.

I do mean "all."

An impressive use of cut and paste indeed. In a way, it was perhaps a bad idea for her to make that post, because it produced the erroneous impression that she was going to include people without their permission if they didn't speak up and ask to be opted out. It may have just been better to reinforce that she DEFINITELY was not going to include anyone without their permission, or ask people to opt in on the post.
