Chris gives Zach a bit of a hip-check. "If you can't keep your fingers out of the dough, so help me, Quinto..."

"I didn't touch it!" The fact that Zach's cheek is puffed out with cookie dough is rather telling, however.

Chris gives him a Look. "You are so full of shit your eyes are brown."

Chris pushes Zach up against the wall. "Fucking evil," he gasps out after he spends several long moments exploring Zach's mouth with his tongue. "You are a fucking goddamned evil bastard." ( So he's going to kiss the hell out of him as punishment. )

"I'm getting used to this, you know. This whole thing where we're starting to have the house all to ourselves most weekends." Chris puts the last of the dishes away. "On the other hand, it's making me absolutely insane that he won't introduce us to his mysterious ladyfriend. And then I start worrying that maybe he's getting himself into trouble with Josh Gomez. On the other hand..." Chris turns and looks at Zach. "I actually used the word 'ladyfriend' in a sentence."

"Yes. Yes you did," Zach says. ( ''You know, I keep thinking that you've reached the limit of just how gay one person can be, but I think you've got hidden potential for queer.'' )

When Zach gets home, the only light on is coming from the upstairs hallway, the light above the stove, and then a faint glow from the dining room. Pansy must be outside, because there are honest-to-goodness arrows on the floor made out of flower petals.

The arrows point to the dining room. Chris is wearing a suit, and just putting what appears to be the last of an intimate two-person dinner on the table.

"Hi, baby," he says, smiling when Zach comes into the room.

Zach's still holding his ring in his hands, slipping it on as he smiles at Chris. "Hey, you," he murmurs. ( "I'm under dressed." )

"Hey." Chris kisses Zach's cheek, drops some scripts on the table, then sits down, fastening his cuffs on. He's already wearing his ring.

"Hey yourself," Zach says, reaching out and touching the inside of Chris's wrist. "Glad you're home."

"Believe me, so am I." Chris reaches for his crossword puzzle book. Then shoves it away.

Zach frowns. "Chris?"

"Yeah, baby?"

"What's up?"

Matt slouches down in a chair, watching Chris with a speculative eye. "Now what on earth are we going to do with the terribly handsome boy?"

Chris is yelling at his computer again. A few moments later, he stomps out of the office and into the kitchen.

Zachary's been working his way through every game he owns with the name Final Fantasy in the title and is available on a handheld system. He's been blocked at every turn trying to bring either the Wii or his X-Box upstairs. The Wii he can understand, as technically it belongs to Zach even though Zachary plays it more often than either Chris or Zach; but the X-Box is his! And suddenly Chris has come up with this rule that the consoles aren't to be upstairs. Ever.

Chris is worse than anybody's mom ever could be.

Zach can be a patient guy, when he needs to be. ( Right now, he's decided that patient isn't what's required anymore. )

[4 August, 2009. Happens several hours after Milo accosts Sendhil in a quiet hallway at the NBC studios and Adrian invites Zach, Chris, and Zachary for dinner.]


"Baby? Can you get the phone?" Chris calls as he slips out onto the patio to fire up the BBQ.

"Got it," Zach says, pushing up off the couch and groaning as he reaches for the phone. "Hello?"

"Hi, Zach. It's Adrian."

( "Hey... everything still on?" )

Zachary skids to a stop just inside the living room doorway. "Which one?" he demands, holding up a red shirt and a blue shirt.

"Are you seriously asking me my opinion in respect to your wardrobe selection?" Zach says, not looking up from his book. "I thought Milo said I wasn't allowed to weigh in on clothes anymore."

"Christopher!" Zachary says, despairingly.

Chris looks up from his book. "Blue," he says.

"Thank you!" Zachary races off upstairs again.

"Where's he going?" Chris asks.

( "Date." Which Zach hadn't mentioned until now. On purpose. )

"All work and no play is going to make Zac Levi a very dull boy," Chris says from the floor where he's play-fighting with Pansy.

"It's completely throwing my brain," Zach says. "I'm not used to this."

"He left his iPhone on the kitchen table after dinner," Chris adds.
