Nikki Finke has posted an item about Monday's trial on her blog, Deadline Hollywood Daily. The item, Lawsuit By J.K. Rowling & Warner Bros Starts In U.S. Court Monday To Stop Publication Of "Harry Potter Rip-Off" is here.

There's some lovely stuff in the comments, including this assertion by P. Lee: Go ahead, WB and JKR succeed...Then any user generated support will dry up and THERE will be a backlash. HP properties will henceforth receive a hostile reception. Isn't the fanbase quite upset at WB (taking a page from NBCU) in splitting the final book into two movies? Go ahead, WB and JKR, keep pissing off the fanbase, it allows opportunity for others while you are blinded by greed and other IPR issues.

(Speaking as an Official Member of the Fanbase for myself, I'm delighted that WB is splitting Deathly Hallows into two movies, although I'd be even happier with a single four-hour movie.)

Dammit, JF! Why do you not send me comment notifications on my own entries?!

... I mean, uh, thanks!

(Wait, who's upset about the book being split into two movies? I thought that would thrill people, given that they'd get twice as much screentime for all the little bits they're obsessed with.)

Does that not work? I can't seem to make it work on JF, and I'm not sure if that's because it doesn't (in which case I guess I now look very stupid), or because I'm doing something wrong.
