New ETA on the latest Lexicon entry, in which SVA writes to a fanzine to defend the book and basically says that the book's legal because it's not as good as the website. Wha?

I didn't want to put up a whole new entry, but [info]auralan found a pretty big burn in the new amended complaint (last ETA).

I don't ever use this journal for anything, so I might as well note ETAs here. The newest:
ETA 11: Another anonycomment: Apparently when RDR (allegedly?) said "Print out the website," WB took them at their word.

Exhibit A: Severus Snape. There are five attachments in total; I think the second one is Hermione and a number of spells.

Not that I've updated in a while, but... [Oct. 3rd, 2004|09:10 am]

This whole Phoenix thing is starting to bother me. It's gone from "Some guy who got banned for trolling" (except that he's always like, "IT IS YOU WHO ARE THE BALL-LICKERS TROLLS!") to this weird feud. And I'm just tired of it. I mean, aside from the constant arrogance, he'd probably fit in at FW pretty well if he'd just get over himself and the whole "Ebil Kabal OMG" thing.

Relating to [info]misia's post that I linked last night: for anyone who wants to put them anywhere.

(I wanted a generic picture of a woman who looked happy and free, but yes, I ended up using shots of Tori Amos. It seemed fitting.)

*cough*

It's a make-out make-up party and everyone's invited!

There's plenty of chips and salsa over here on the Sploogemarine if anyone wants to come over, and the Littlest Armadillo is tending bar. However, we've run out of tequila, and if anyone could help us out on that one, our margaritas would be eternally grateful. Also: plz brng mr snax.

So. "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in Fifteen Minutes" has gone live at Fiction Alley. Let the games begin!

(Speaking of which... I know nothing about FA. What's the protocol with the review board? Should I reply to comments--you know, "Thanks for reading, glad you liked it"--or is that considered intrusive? You know, like a wanker responding to every single comment in a wank?)

Also, y'all are my wankas, so I may as well go ahead and tell y'all the news (which I think a few of you already know from a filtered LJ post I made last week): Movies in Fifteen Minutes will be pastede on for great yay in September 2005. Yes, an actual book. The contract will probably be ready for me to sign at the end of the month; I'll most likely officially sign my agent's contract this week. Once we've got that squared away, my agent will start looking at "Black Ribbon" and the children's book I've started.

Can you imagine the wank possibilities? OMG SHE GOT A BOOK DEAL FOR FANFIC!!1

P.S. Unless my publisher has a problem with it, the book will be published under the name Cleolinda Jones. I figure, that's the name everyone knows me by from the whole "Fifteen Minutes" thing online anyway, so you'll know it when you see it.

[mood |Overwhelmed]
[music |Tori Amos, "Taxi Ride"]

Well, Heidi at Fiction Alley emailed me late last week and asked if I'd like to archive "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in Fifteen Minutes." I'm a linkwhore, so I said okay, and they're coding it as we speak. The review board is already up, and eventually the piece itself will be posted here, apparently.

My wanka sense has started tingling.

I say this because HP in 15M also got linked on Mugglenet last night, and not only have I gotten about a frillion new comments, I've also gotten a pseudo-death threat ("you're an idiot and you should be put down"). I mostly just think it's funny--it's so incredibly over-the-top--so I'm not asking my minions friends to go defend my honor or anything. I'm just very new to the world of People Actually Reading My Stuff, is all, so the vehemence of the comments is what boggles me. I mean, I also got one that said HP in 15M is "a fantastic piece of literature," which--bullshit, man. Come on.

(I also got a much simpler "get over yourself" as well.)

People have also started dissecting the many references and allusions in the piece--references (Monty Python and the Holy Grail?) I wasn't even (Hedwig and the Angry Inch?) aware of ("Boy Meets World"?), so... go them?

I've also had several people say that I'm either as funny or funnier than Cassie Claire, which 1) I don't believe and 2) just--don't go there, people. And now I'm going to have a review board at Fiction Alley. If anyone has a wank flame-retardant suit I could borrow, I'd appreciate it muchly.

All right, I need the opinions of my wanka friends: Movies in Fifteen Minutes. Sekrit project to be pastede on for great yay. Ten big blockbusters of the last fifteen years. Twenty-five contenders. Poll open to the general public. Go!

So, here's what I've been up to lately: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in Fifteen Minutes. The most current entry, as of this writing, has icons for the taking.

On the downside, I have a proposal I need to put in the mail tomorrow, but Sister Girl is flailing around with an end-of-term paper on salmonella and needs help. SuperCleo, Captain MLA!, to the rescue, I s'pose.
