	It wasn't first person, and it wasn't facetious, either :< I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THE AUTHOR CAME UP WITH SUCH A DESCRIPTION, maybe because Akita = Japanese dogs? EVEN IF IT WERE SARCASM, it doesn't... work well. At all. Also, the author insists on calling the character a lush, so. :< Eh. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Sometimes I hate fanfiction for the way we choose to describe the characters. I'm sure people get annoyed at some of my descriptions too, but at least I don't resort to using a dog to describe a character's hair colour.

My current hated word is 'silveret/te" used to describe Riku from Kingdom Hearts. Oh my GOD I hate that word so goddamn much and it's used ALL THE GODDAMN TIME in KH fanfics. But at least I should feel glad no one's comparing his hair to the coat of a Samoyed or something.

OMG, bonus fail points if it's a yaoi fiction because that's totally NOT romantic or even trying to make a point about how unbeautiful yet still perfect a character is.

Hm. I forget what author said it, but sometimes people get so carried away with their adjectives or, in this case, bad metaphors that it makes the reader actually blink themselves right out of the story.

Hell, SOME OF US DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT AN AKITA WAS until you talked about it right here. =(

HAAAAA OMIGOD, SEE. I didn't even think of the LOLFURRY implications at first since I was so focused on the wtf analogy. ;;________;; NOW I CAN'T UNSEE IT.

There ARE people who can use really unusual descriptions and make it work, but those are few and very far in between. :< I mean, a fic writer whose work I follow tends to use REALLY REALLY flowery descriptions at times, but it's subtle and works surprisingly well. It kinda gives the fic a more poetic effect rather than make me go "lolwut?"

I only know of Akitas because of Hachiko. :<
