So, we watched the Downton Abbey Christmas Special while I was home in Texas, and I'm not quite sure when it's actually coming back on air, but for posterity I'd like to share with you my parents' predictions. Awkward Coworker: Do you have time to meet to discuss your [program I am still learning to use] woes?
Sam: We have the lunch and then the meeting, but I am free this afternoon. Should I hit you up after the meeting?
Awkward Coworker: knish.
*thirty seconds passes*
Awkward Coworker: Sorry, that was my phone autocorrecting the "k" I sent you.

This day has been overly social, I feel.
The lunch I was tasked with planning was today, and went well, though of course somehow I ended up at the table with two of my boss's bosses and dripped pasta sauce on my shirt. Classy with a capital C, that's me.
But then after the lunch I got an invitation to a party tomorrow night by a real live person who knows me and seems to think I would still be a good addition to a party. A party on a Saturday night! My world is turned upside down!
So I stopped off at Trader Joe's to pick up some wine to bring, and bought some sandwich cookies for R because he loves them. And then as I was walking home from the train R JUMPED OUT OF A MEXICAN RESTAURANT and introduced me to his friend who was visiting from Indiana. So I gave him the cookies, and we talked some and I told him the funny story about wanting to friend his brother on Facebook because he seemed cool, and his brother friending me first, thus saving me from displaying my true ineptitude at Facebook.
2012 appears to be The Year Of Video Games And Being Mistaken For A Grownup With Social Skills. |
