Well, I'm going to Las Vegas. I understand somewhere on the way I may pass through Bat Country.
Much of today will involve sitting in various airports, watching movies on my tablet and eating dreadful airport food. It is kind of nice that we as a society have agreed that the time of day doesn't count in airports. Other people might have a margarita at nine in the morning to settle their nerves; I'm getting ice cream for breakfast.
See you all on the flip side. I was going to say "think of me fondly" but that is an actual facts lyric from the reason we are going to Vegas, which is to take my mother to see Phantom of the Opera.
It should be fun! There's a chandelier involved.
If I win a jillion dollars in Vegas I promise to become a jet-setting playboy and this blog will get much more interesting. |

Oh my god there's more of her.
I've just met Mum's oldest friend and her husband, and so much about my mother is explained. I love her to bits but she's...strange, we are a strange family, and now I know we are not alone. Because her BFF, god love her, is exactly like my mother. It's cool, just...wow. Down to the fascination for tote bags.
But as it turns out Mum's BFF's husband works in the same field I do, so we've been discussing the concerns of the day while Mum and BFF catch up. I feel like the gentlemen just left to have brandy and cigars and the women are adjourning to the parlor.
Also we ate dinner at a restaurant full of bears. |
