I have done nothing all weekend. It was glorious.

Well, okay, I did some stuff; I cooked seitan for the first time (for faux chicken-and-rice, with sweet ginger sauce) and I'm currently waiting for hot dog buns I'm baking to rise. I washed the dishes and roomba'd the floor, and repaired my glasses, which broke on Friday night. I read a bunch of comic books and watched a couple of movies and some TV shows on Netflix. Best quote I think I've heard from a crime documentary in some time:

"Our theory was that semen doesn't just fall out."

I also built a table of contents for my recipe file, so that now I can find a recipe without scrolling through the whole thing or trying to remember what I called it.

I've been playing around with Pirate Country, the sequel to The Dead Isle, and I think I have at once solved the problem of the "big bad" for the book and the problem of how to present American slavery in an AU where America was founded on an actual belief in the equality of all, not just the equality of all land-owning white guys. So that's a step in the right direction.
