I really really really object to people who use "OCD" to mean "likes things tidy" or "really organised". They're not even remotely the same thing and it's really unhelpful when people treat them the same. What's your pet peeve? |

[Locked to Est members] I was looking at a message board for a toy site and there was this stupid post asking men who liked pegging if we were gender-confused because of it. The answers were full of straight/bi guys saying no, but then women started jumping in and answering, and a gay man. And now I'm confused - just not about gender. I thought pegging was specifically a man getting fucked in the arse by a woman. But some people seem to be saying that it's anyone doing anal with toys. So... what's the definition you know? |

So I don't know how much I'll be online - I will be checking Est E-Mail some but if you want to get in touch quickish the best bet is going to be my phone. Paul did that thing where it only rings through if - I'm actually not sure (something to do with the phone book) but anyway, you can get me there and it's all good. TEDx is tomorrow night, so there's that, but I have avoiding-plans next week. Megan (cousin on Dad's side, don't remember if I mentioned her at Christmas?) works at the shelter next to my vet and I've helped out there before, they know me. So I'm going to spend next week washing dogs instead of reading the papers. It seems more productive, you know? Daniel. |

| 10:56 am | Talking helps, right? [Locked to Est members] I guess it's official now. Technically "Indefinite hibernation" isn't the same as splitting up, but really... What I keep coming back to is how much this feels like getting divorced did. When you still love someone but you've realised that what you have isn't going to work any more. I managed exactly four years of being married, I've been playing music with Ben and Chris for twenty. Who you are at thirty two isn't who you are at twelve, and I still love them but we're different people now, very different people. My brother is coming over in a bit and we're going to get drunk, it seems like a good idea. Any advice? I guess it's probably a bit like having a TV show or something finish too, not quite the same, but when everything shifts under you. I'll be fine. It's just going to take work. |

Seriously? This is how you spend your time? I've been painting my nails for the last twenty years, and I'm pretty sure my dick hasn't dropped off yet. I think gender roles are basically overrated anyway, but seriously, painted nails are not that big a deal. ETA ten minutes later: OK, so now I'm wondering. Do you care about gender roles?
