Back!
Met
m31andy tonight in a pub. There's a shocker for you.
I learned many things tonight.
1. If you kiss your same-sex friend hello, there will always be a couple of bowsies at the bar who assume that you are about to indulge in hot lesbian sex in front of them.
2. The Trafalgar Studios are pretty small.
3. John Simm is superb at comedy.
4. John Simm probably goes home with his face in agony every night - he didn't *look* like John Simm in the play.
5. The high point was realising that all the many female roles were played by Helen from Drop the Dead Donkey who was fantastic.
6. Adrian Bower completely reminded me of an ex-flatmate.
7. Andy (or to be precise, her laugh), completely pulled John Simm on stage. She laughed (at a funny moment) and for a brief second there was a completely non-Elling expression on his face and he grinned like mad. (Thankfully he was supposed to be smiling at that point, but I reckoned he left his head in Adrian Bower's lap for a couple of seconds more than usual).
8. Elling is a superb play and I strongly urge all London readers to go.
ETA: 9. There are completely far too many occurrences of the word "completely" in this post.
