my inbox scares me; or, preparing for an open-book exam is unsettling
It's a sad state of affairs that I might break out my hard mode FE game in order to be ready for D&D tomorrow.
I need to be functional today, as Things Need to Happen and Emails Must Be Sent. (I have spent a lot of time these past weeks telling underclassmen, "I never realized how much time I would spend dealing with my email due to thesis. I used to reply to everything instantly, if applicable. Now I let it pile up and tackle it in hour blocks." OH GOD AND I JUST GOT ANOTHER ONE.) Unfortunately, my caffeine tolerance isn't cooperating with me on this.
I need to be less afraid of my email, especially since some of my fear comes from, I think, being slightly ahead of where I am expected to be and ergo being wildly uncertain about what I'm doing these days.
In other news, soxhlet extractors! Yaaaay!
