| 12:32 am | *sleepy mumbles* The Be Imba webtool is awesome. I have to redo all my enchants due to new gear and trying to raise my enchanting by using my own gear and I have a group getting ready for Assault on Ba-Ican'tspellit's Landing so I can get the metagem I want for the Voidheart Crown. I finally have the cash to get really GOOD gems to upgrade my gear, and it's nice to have a place I can go to check out what I have vs what I should have. ...and no, I won't be upgrading the gems in my pants. I'm holding out for better pants. Note to self: Don't log out with riding crop equipped if you want to check your stats. Missing trinkets screw everything up. |

| 10:48 pm | WoW Update Too much WoW lately - in great part because I'm still so jet-lagged I can't think. Gah. ( What I've been doing, when awake, which has been rare ) Hopefully, I'll be awake enough tomorrow to do writing stuff. *sighs* |
| 12:22 am | Eep I finally got my equipment enchanted (although I hope to have my frozen shadoweave robe finished off soon). I still need gems for the boots, but I've been forbidden to do it myself and told to wait till one of our officers can do it for me. *blinks* Okay. I'm still broke after picking up my last two heroic keys and making spellcloth for a guildie, so.... I also joined a 5v5 arena team. *chews on a knuckle* Amongst all this excitement, I did a lot of levelling of some of my alts. Man... this has become Remedial WoW. They totally castrated Hillsbrad, amongst other places. I feel as though I unlocked a cheat mode somewhere. Blah. This makes me twitchy because, once upon a time, you could see that someone was 70 and be at least a little confident that they knew how to play their class and had SOME experience. Yeah, laugh at my optimism. *groans* They've totally defanged a lot of the quests DESIGNED to make you learn how to play your class to the utmost of your ability. BLAH. At any rate, Saturday will be my first shot at arena (though I've done BGs once or twice). We'll see how I do. <b>Edit</b>: Amusingly, our guild is 'Land of Misfit Toys'. Our ranks are: Alt/Bank Square Wheeled Train Misfit Doll Steve the Doll Chuck in the Box (officers) King Moonracer (gl) All alts of the officers are also officers, so there is no need to log out and back in to get things done. Our gl was messing around with the guild bank thing and then went to bed after a brief discussion involving access rights to the bank. I'd wondered idly how she'd solved it, but hadn't checked. As I went to log out, I noted that my rank was suddenly King Moonracer. Now, for a glorious two minutes once, I was indeed gl... but being the decided n00b amongst our guild (having only been playing since May) it was just as placeholder as our gl switched the position amongst her toons. I still threatened to change the ranks to 'handsomest knight' and 'pretty pretty princess'. ... where was I? Oh yes. *grins* She apparently made all four of her officers co-gls to solve her perception of the bank access problem. Awesome. I got a promotion... not that it'll make a difference, really. I'm the Ombudsman and the Ombudsman I shall remain. Guild Leader, Officer in Charge of Instances/Raids, Officer in Charge of Training, Officer in Charge of Advancement, Ombudsman... it's always fun to have people look at your role as officer and be forced to ask 'wtf does that mean'? |

| 9:59 am | *grouch* Because lj hates me and I can't get in to tell if I managed to edit my latest post or delete it entirely.... [repost] It says a lot that when I need something, I generally can't find who/what I need. It goes beyond not having that combat trained xeno-botanist on hand when I get attacked by a giant carnivorous alien shambleplant. The next guy along won't even by Joe Shmoe with the cell phone and just enough brain cells to dial 911. No... it'll be the guy from Little Shop of Horrors who'll probably end up ignoring my feeble struggles in order to encourage the plant to eat up 'cause it needs its daily allowance of carbon-based life forms if it wants to grow up big and strong. I swear, if I ever fall off a high cliff and am left hanging there by my fingernails, I won't get the local Alpine Rescue Squad... I'll get a passing herd of lemmings who'll stop just long enough to critique my technique before moving on, with a few last heckles of 'Jump, Jump!' and 'don't quit your day job' in squeaky little disparaging voices. Feh. |

When you are going to talk about the news, please link TO the news and not to other people's editorials alone - NO MATTER HOW ELOQUENTLY WRITTEN. I would prefer to have the raw information at my fingertips, thanks. Otherwise, it's simply rumor-mongering and spreading panic. As someone who does a lot of historical research, it's hard enough finding the truth amid the muck. Please don't make it more difficult. Now. Virginia's legislative ruling. Edited one last time: If half the people going on about this would stop wailing and start attempting to DO something instead of flailing about, moaning, I'd be a lot more impressed. Sympathy is nice but it doesn't help a hell of a lot. And no, I'm not bitching about the people making public statements, sending letters or doing other, quiet things. I'm literally bitching about the people who are simply whining and complaining about how EVIL it all is or how nazi-like the government is being. Hello, Bitch, this is the USA. Yeah, we're having a few civil rights issues right now, but get off your fat ass and try to make a difference while you still can. You've got free speech and a right to be heard. Call/write your damn congressman (state or federal) and make yourself heard. And, as has been pointed out, a lot of these politicos make a point of reading and answering their handwritten mail personally. USE that. *breathes* Me? Worried about losing my house if something happens to Dorothy because our damned governor is looking into pulling 'Sexual Orientation' off the protected list against discrimination and harrassment in our state?
