Welcome to JournalFen Okay, so yet another blog. Still, it's not every day JournalFen allows people to make a blog for free. This time around, there'd been an eight-hour window of opportunity. Having been a lurker on Fandom_Wank, I jumped on the chance.
So here I am. Now JournalFen's supposed to be a blogging community dedicated to people who are fans of things. In keeping with that theme, I suppose I should lay out just what fandoms I participate within.
The biggest current ones are anime/manga. I lump them together despite the different media because I tend to be a fan of both versions of a series if they're available. My current big love is Rurouni Kenshin. Past big loves include Speed Racer (when I was in grade school), Star Blazers and Voltron (Lion Force only, please), Thundercats, Sailor Moon and Revolutionary Girl Utena. Other current anime/manga interests are Yu Yu Hakusho, Saiyuki, and InuYasha. Rurouni Kenshin is the only one I'm actually "manic" about.
I have other interests as well, but I'll save enumerating them for another time. It's getting late now. Off to bed for me.

I may be a fan of Rurouni Kenshin . . . . . . but I'm not otaku level of rabid fannishness. No way.
Now I like well-done hentai as much as the next person, and this encludes doujinshi. My absolute favorite circle for Kenshin douji is Yamaguchirow, and I've picked up a couple here and there over on eBay. Eight days ago I spotted such an item on eBay that caught my fancy. Since I was in between paychecks, I watched it for a few days. No takers, and then one bid the day before I got paid.
So I budgeted in an amount and bid on it.
And then comes someone else hours later who just has to have all four Yamaguchirow Kenshin items up for bid right now. In a matter of hours, the price went from a rather reasonable amount to another that essentially represents one-third my apartment's rent.
Ugh, no way. Way too rich for my blood, especially for a douji. It's not like it's an original by Watsuki-san himself. If that person wants it that badly, he or she is welcome to it. I'll just continue to be somewhat responsible with my money and hope that another copy of the same thing comes up for auction in the near future.
