Twilight: The Film of the Book

Those who read this blog or follow me on Twitter should know by now that I am not a fan of Twilight or its sequels, the “vampire” series by Stephenie Meyer. In fact, my disappointment in the series is what (in conjunction with reading seven of the Sookie Stackhouse books in the space of 24 hours) led me to start writing Blood Bound. So I suppose I have Stephenie Meyer to thank, not as an influence of inspiration in the traditional sense, but one in the “get your arse in gear and actually write one of those novels in your head” way.

Most of the problems with the film come from the book itself: dialogue that may have only sounded slightly cheesy on paper sounded ridiculous when spoken aloud, and since they had to keep at least somewhat faithful to the plot that really limited how they could actually give it a plot.

While it was definitely not the greatest movie ever made, and definitely towards the bottom of the list of movies I have seen, I found Twilight: The Film Of The Book to be better than the book itself.
