Have successfully moved the Games posts via the outstanding volunteer work of nessime_lisen. Am still trying to figure out how to transfer/set up the layout. Anyone know how to help a girl out? Our paid account expires tomorrow, so I am not sure what the ramifications of that are on the layout and photobucket. There will be announcements there tomorrow or late tonight.

In other news, I would love to friend back everyone who has found me on my other journals. I am DJIN7 in all places. Trouble is, many people have not kept their LJ user names, and worse - have no mention on their user info of who they are/used to be or an age statement. If I don't know who you are, I will likely not friend you back at the other journals. Fair warning, yeah? Paranoia being what it is in the current clime.

I still haven't transferred my own journal, and the news on the street is that Greatest Journal is hot on the heels of Livejournal; their TOS is nearly identical and apparently, their leaders are nearly as incoherent. Insane Journal and Journalfen are looking pretty good, especially if JF gets their site up to par, giving us polling abilities and such.

Thoughts?

Ok, time to chime in on the migratory patterns of fandom due to global disaster.

Yes, I will be keeping this journal, and posting here as well. I have no chan or NC17 content here, I just ramble and fangirl. However, I will also be allowing my paid accounts here to lapse. This includes the snarry_games and its mod account. I have paid more than $500 since 2005 to livejournal for my accounts, and I will no longer be doing so.

That being said, the Snarry Games will be moving to a better, safer, atmosphere. Particularly due to the upcoming Art Games. We don't do chan at the Games, but having our very existence being held hostage at the whim of someone with a grudge who 'thinks' Harry 'looks' young is NOT ON. We may be calling for volunteers again for help with this, as I understand it, you cannot transfer communities as easily as personal journals.

We have not yet decided which of the journaling communities we will go to. Investigations are underway as to which of the following give us the best bang for our buck, with regards to membership limits, polling abilities, graphics/layouts, et al.

In other news, this afternoon I agreed to terms for a new job. Any of you keeping track know that new job from last year went to hell in a handbasket when it was bought by another company. Best Boss Ever got transferred, and I ended up with Bitch from Hell. No more. I will be giving my notice tomorrow, and I really and truly hope this is it, the job I both need and will succeed at. Wish me luck!

In other news, people in other fandoms are either reading and enjoying Harry Potter right along with us, or they are mocking us. Pretty damned funny:

No time to talk right now, been extraordinarily busy lately, spent Friday night in the USA at an Evening With Rush (oh, yes zoanthropic), read the hard copy of the book Saturday, but have been flitting in and out of the flist's HPDH reviews and reactions to comment.

I have many things I wish to say and discuss about the book, including how the hated Epilogue was absolutely necessary. *blinks* Unpopular fandom opinion!

However, I'm off to go see an old friend who is back home for a couple of days, who has moved to Texas, so I can't wax poetic at this time. Just warning ya that it's coming.

Leila and me got together and wrote again, for the i_love_looshie June fest. I do, you know. Love Lucius Malfoy. Such a bastard. Heh. Anyways, we were throwing around ideas about what we should do before the month is over, and we came up with a drabble back'n'forth, where Leila wrote one POV, and I the other. The Harry Potter Fandom Thank You Project
Has someone made your fandom life fun? Would you like to thank them? Well this is the place.

It doesn't matter if you ship Harry with Ginny. Draco with Hermione or Ron with the Giant Squid - this is no place for fandom fights or debates on who was right or wrong. This is a community to thank someone (or many people) who have made the fandom a fun place to be.

At the end of the day, we are all fans of the series. We have all enjoyed the adventures of Harry, Ron and Hermione, so lets put our fandom differences aside and say Thank you!

That's pretty cool, and I intend to do up a massive tl;dr post of my own. I do like to thank people for entertaining me. I'm sure you lot are sick of it by now. ♥

20th High School reunion come and gone, it was fun. Tiring, a little, all that socialising. Heh. I spent most of my time being suspicious of everyone's intentions. Not unlike high school. o_O

Am currently house-sitting at Best Boss Ever's house. Her cat is adorable, in that wobbly, way-too-fat kinda way.

Speaking of cats, I had to put one of mine down this month. She had been suffering from an old injury, and it had come to the point where she was unable to even clean herself due to the likely pain she was feeling. She was almost 14, so she had a pretty good run. She had some serious adventures in her time as well; if any of you are local, I could tell you a story involving the George Massey tunnel and a two and half hour shut down she caused while they were trying to get her out of it. *snicker* I will post an in memoriam picture of her later, after I get home in a few days.

20th High School reunion this week. *sigh* Also, Roger Waters concert. Plus, I bought my plane tickets to Toronto the other day. Guess I'm goin' to Prophecy. Heh. Am doing a panel, too. Have to start planning that, too.

For escapism purposes, I have signed up for an odd ficathon. It's a Buffy The Vampire Slayer fest, and it's called dawn_all_along. The premise: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to claim one episode from the first four seasons of BtVS, and insert Dawn. You can rewrite the entire episode, or just a key scene (no pun intended!) You can write from Dawn's POV or another character's. Explore the ways Dawn's presence changes events.

I chose "The Wish". Hee. An AU of an AU. A lot of people hated Dawn. I did, too. So I may or may not make her suffer. Go, ANYA!

In other news, the snarry_games is over. Finito. For now. One thing left, our regularly scheduled concrit poll, wherein we ask people what they thought, what they loved, what they hated. We have changed and adapted the Games every time based on this premise, because we want it to be the best fest possible. Look for it soon.

But this also means something very significant. I'm baaaaack! Oh, yeah baby. Wants me some recs for stories and art, STAT. Want to catch up. Want to know how all of you lot are. Want to catch up. Want, want, want! So, any spoilers yet?
