Just about the only thing I can think of is this: WTF are you doing, Inui? Although, someone please tell me that I'm not thinking in the wrong direction when I suspect Kaidou's got his own version of Kirihara's red eye mode and we're only just now seeing he has it (there was that skin tone shift...and his eyes seemed strange around that point too).
You know what this match has distracted me from? Ryoma's amnesia. I think my current pet theory about that is that amnesia happens when you go through all three of the doors, or whatever. I suspect it would fit in with the way Ryoma always has to be the best without losing, at least in the manga.
And, uh, since I didn't post about the previous chapter: I knew that conversation/match/whatever with Yagyuu was important. I was just picking the wrong reason it was important.
I was gonna hold this post until I had other things to toss with it, but, uh...I don't think that's happening.
