As of yesterday around noon-ish, I became an official NaNoWriMo winner. I'm only a little over 50K, but the story's not finished (nor likely to be until I wander off somewhere and do some research). I'm probably going to toss another couple paragraphs in to fill in some gaps I left, but I think I'm mostly done for the month. There's going to be a lot of cleaning up to do when I get around to editing it, but that's for another time. After all, I need to select a lengthy passage of polished novel from the thesis in order to submit it to grad schools, and I have to do that before the end of December.
There's one thing I definitely don't love about this time of year: the way my hands are always very cold after I wash dishes. Stupid water...
