He knows this is his own fucking problem, after all he could have just got up and walked out at any time, but then it comes to the second part of why he’s rattled; he’d hung around, shared a shower, pizza and beer, things Ian normally avoids with anyone other than the two boys he likes to play with regularly, and those boys, he feels, have earned that time from him. Not because he couldn't think of anything, but he wanted this to be perfect. Their first Christmas together. He got him a 5x5 rubik's cube - not that he has any illusion about this being any challenge to Rupert. But it might be a bit of distraction or fun. She's fine, her family and critters are fine. She's involved in helping wherever she can, so expect radio silence for now.
