[FIC] Amatsuki
Title: Reality
Fandom: Amatsuki
Pairing: OC/Bonten
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 344 words
Notes: Probably will be Jossed. Oh well.

Bonten's borrowed body woke with a start as a train rattled by the window of the tiny apartment. It was a reflexive sort of panic that had him crouching naked on the futon, awaiting whatever creature had just roared through the night, and it wasn't long before he was mentally kicking himself for his reaction. It wasn't his first trip into the world some called Nirvana. He knew what a train was, and what it sounded like. But it was the first time he had really existed there among the humans, blending in for a purpose other than a simple gathering of information.

It wasn't moonlight or anything as romantic that filtered through the half-closed blinds. The glare of multicolored neon lights pervaded everything, even this late at night. It made Bonten edgy. But the human who lay curled on the other side of the futon, the curve of his spine illuminated by the dim red light from the sign outside, seemed entirely unbothered by it.

Bonten wanted to run his hand down that pale back, press his lips to the juncture of neck and shoulder. He couldn't even remember the man's name, just that his eyes were bright and the slightly mocking curve of his smile carried enough familiar echoes to make something go tight in Bonten's chest. And when his hands combed through Bonten's hair-- long enough to nearly reach the small of his back, now-- it was easy enough to lose himself in sensation and pretend.

The blinking light of the digital clock said that it was 3:45 AM. The sun would be up soon. "Dawn, huh." Bonten whispered to himself with an ironic twist to his lips. Dawn. Gyouten.

He pulled on the jeans and shirt the person his borrowed flesh belonged to had been wearing. It was probably time to go, anyway, and when he gave the body back, it wouldn't do to leave it in an awkward position.

In the darkness of the early morning, the streets of Tokyo seemed more illusory than Edo.
