Raven had felt Oz's eyes on him. Of course he had-- after all, one didn't become a valued member of the Nightlay family without first learning something as basic as how to tell if you were being watched. It had made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up, even though Oz was his friend, his master, and technically had every right to stare at Raven for as long as he wanted.
So that was why, when Oz pushed him down onto the bed with that awful, beautiful, teasing smile on his face, Raven wasn't really surprised. "Aah, Gil really has changed a lot, hasn't he," the boy said cheerfully, planting his knees on either side of Raven's hips. "I wonder how much? Can I see?"
"Ten years is a very long time," Raven muttered, and immediately hated himself for it. The mischievous gleam disappeared from Oz's eyes the moment the words left his lips, replaced with the dead look that Raven had learned to hate.
The smile hadn't left Oz's face, but it was of a slightly different type now. "That's right," Oz agreed, leaning down. He supported him with one hand spread next to Raven's head, so that the pressure of his weight would tug at the older man's hair just enough to be uncomfortable. His free hand skimmed down the front of Raven's chest, leaving a trail of undone buttons in his wake. The bare skin he'd revealed seemed to fascinate him. "A very long time," he repeated.
As Oz's fingers passed over Raven's scar, he shivered. His own hand shot out to grasp the boy's slim wrist and hold it there, because for some reason that felt like the right thing to do, like a kind of demented reassurance that they were both still there, lying on the bed-- though who he was trying to convince of that fact, Raven wasn't sure.
"Ah, well. I suppose it's all right after all, even if you are taller now," Oz said, and kissed him.
His lips were warm.
