THESE ARE SO OLD AND CRAPPY I DON'T KNOW WHY I'M BOTHERING.

Title: N/A
Fandom: Kingdom Hearts
Pairing: hints of Axel/Roxas
Rating: PG
Word Count: 258 words

Axel's skin was fever-hot under Sora's fingers, and it bothered him that he didn't know if that was normal or not. What bothered him even more was the feel of it--Nobodies weren't supposed to feel like that, weren't supposed to shiver and offer up a weak, all-too human smile in response to his hesitant touch. Weren't supposed to have brilliant green eyes, even when going cloudy, still filled with enough emotion that it hurt to look into them.

"Why?" he asked, hating the way his voice stuck in his throat.

"I wanted to see Roxas." Axel managed a pale imitation of his usual maniac grin, attempting a shrug and failing with a wince of pain. "I liked him. He made me feel like I had a heart, you know?"

And no, Sora shouldn't know, but he found himself nodding, because he did. Somewhere inside a voice was whispering that this shouldn't be happening, that the good guys didn't die, even if they were only sort of ambiguously good in the first place--things didn't happen that way. But he ignored it, his thumb skimming over the teardrop-shapped mark on one pale cheek. His fingers tangled in soft red hair, and, god, it felt familiar.

Axel closed his eyes briefly, taking a shuddering breath. "You make me feel the same way."

Later, in the darkness of World That Never Was, Sora tightened his hand around his new Keyblade, feeling the heat spread through his body, and realized that the wetness on his face wasn't only from the rain.

There was something in his bed, and it was annoying him. Roxas grumbled, rolling over onto his side. Said thing didn't go away. Hot breath tickled the hair at the back of his neck as a mouth brushed over his ear, nipping at the flesh. "Roxaaaas..." a familiar voice whispered, tongue lapping at the ticklish spot just behind his ear.

Roxas muttered something that he hoped was rude, and tried to squirm away without disturbing the warm cocoon of blankets surrounding him. "G'way, Axel."

"Honey, it's time to get up," the other continued in a simpering voice, undeterred. "Wouldn't want to be late, would we?"

Slapping Axel's hand when it ventured into dangerous territory, Roxas finally opened his eyes with a groan. "Whuh time izzit?" The only response he received was an alarm clock dropping onto the pillow in front of him. After a moment of rapid blinking, the fuzzy numbers on the clock face finally resolved themselves into something visible.

The response was immediate. Blankets and pillows flew into the air as Roxas scrambled off the bed in a panic. "Shit!" Clothes. Right. Clothes were necessary, especially when going into a meeting with Larxene. He was all the way to zipping his coat and making his way to the door when he noticed that Axel was laughing at him. His eyes narrowed as he turned to look at the bed. Axel was still sprawled on it, his long legs tangled in the sheets, spiky hair even messier than usual. Normally--not that Roxas would admit to it--that would be a pretty nice sight. Except for the continued giggling. "What?"

Axel grinned madly. "Wrong coat," he managed, before dissolving into laughter again.

Glancing down, Roxas noted the sleeves hanging down past his hands and the way the coat pooled at his feet. Oops.

"It's okay," Axel said breathlessly between whoops of laughter, "if you want to borrow my clothes, all you have to do is ask fir--AUGH!" He was cut off by Roxas tackling him with a growl.

They ended up being very, very late.

Title: N/A
Fandom: Kingdom Hearts
Pairing: Sora/Riku
Rating: PG
Word Count: 313 words

"Riku, can I talk to you for a moment?"

Sora didn't give the other boy a chance to respond, grabbing him by the wrist and all but dragging him to one side of the room. Small hands pushed him up against one of the crumbling stone slabs, fingers tangling in the smooth leather of his coat. Crystalline blue eyes met his, bluer than the sky, and it was easy to believe they could bore right through his hateful borrowed form.

"I see you," Sora said, his voice soft. "I told you that no matter what you look like, you're still Riku. But you don't believe me."

Riku was silent, wanting to run away, to hide himself back in the familiar darkness, but those eyes anchored him in the light. There was no hope of escape, and Sora was going to realize any moment now what a horrible mistake he'd made and push Riku away in disgust, he was sure of it.

"So," Sora continued, "I thought I should do something to convince you." One hand uncurled from the front of Riku's jacket, fingertips gently tracing over one tanned cheekbone. Then a faint smile, hand moving to the back of Riku's neck for leverage as he rocked forward onto his toes to lean upwards, and they were kissing. Sora's lips were soft and chapped, his kiss fumbling and inexperienced and oh so full of warmth and light that it took Riku's breath away.

It was over almost as soon as it began, Sora dropping back down to his feet and flashing a brilliant, if slightly embarrassed grin. "See? I'd never do that to An--to Zehanort."

That was such a Sora thing to say that Riku had to laugh. And the hands that hung onto the stone slab to keep him from doubling over felt, for the first time, like they belonged to him.

Pairing: implied Axel/Roxas (Sora and Roxas)
Rating: G
Word Count: 320 words

"Have you ever had a Valentine's Day before?" Sora asks, curling his legs under himself and wiggling on the bed until he's satisfied with his position. He pulls the bag of cheap drugstore chocolates onto his lap and tears into it.

Roxas rolls his eyes. "Can you really see Xemnas going for that?"

"Well, no, but..." Sora mumbles around a mouthful of chocolate. He crinkles the wrappers into little foil balls and tosses them onto the floor, where they join the clutter already inhabiting his room. "I mean, it does have to do with hearts."

"Riku said it had to do with blatant commercialism." Roxas sits down on the bed next to Sora, his form blurring faintly around the edges on the side closest to the other boy.

Sora just shakes his head, pulling out yet another chocolate heart out of the bag. "Nuh-uh. Don't listen to Riku. He's just cynical." He holds the pink foil-covered candy out, waving it in front of Roxas' face. "It's about hearts."

"I guess you'd be an expert on it, then," Roxas says dryly, grabbing Sora by the wrist and stilling the back-and-forth movement of his hand.

"Yep." Sora grins at him, wriggling out of Roxas' grip and grabbing his hand with his own. He tangles his fingers with Roxas' semitransparent ones, trapping the candy between their palms. As he stares into eyes that are exact copies of his own, his voice loses its gently teasing tone. "You are too, you know. You have to be."

"Why?"

"'Cause you gave him a heart."

There's a long silence. Roxas wants to pull away from Sora's hand, but for some reason, he can't seem to bring himself to do it. Finally: "It's melting," he says, meaning the candy rapidly turning gooey from the combined heat of their enjoined hands.

Sora's grin is brilliant. "I know."

Roxas gets the feeling that Sora's referring to something else entirely.
