[FIC] Kingdom Hearts Title: N/A Fandom: Kingdom Hearts Pairing: Sora and Roxas Rating: PG Word Count: 553 words Notes: Takes place soon after the prologue. When Sora opens his eyes, he sees bright stained glass and feathers, and thinks Oh, one of these dreams. Sound works differently here, so he's not surprised when he moves soundlessly across the intricate design covering the platform. There's a door on the other side, as white as the doves that heralded his entrance to this place. He knows he has to open it with the certainty one has in dreams, despite his waking wariness of doors. When he places his hand on the doorknob, there's a flash of bright light. He finds himself in a small room that feels familiar but he doesn't know if that's because he's dreaming or if he actually recognizes it. There's a large window set in one wall, the setting sun outside casting orangey-red light on the bed--as well as the boy sitting on it. "Hi," says the boy. "Hi," Sora says back automatically. Then he blinks. "I know you." The boy shrugs. "Not really. But kind of. It's a long story." It's hard for Sora to look directly at him. Every time he tries, the boy's edges sort of flicker, blurring with his surroundings. One moment he's solid, the next the sunlight is streaming through the faint outline of blond hair. The only constant is his eyes, blue like the sky or the ocean at home, easy to fall into ready to pull him under if he's not careful. "Can I sit down?" he asks. All the fading in and out was making him dizzy. "Sure," the boy says, moving over to make room for him. "We've got a lot to talk about." "Yeah." He finds himself agreeing, because for some reason, they do. The bed creaks slightly when he sits down next to the boy, just like his did back home. "Um, who--" "Shh." The boy shakes his head, placing a finger over Sora's lips to silence him. "My turn to talk. I don't want to disappear--I can't disappear. Not yet, anyway. So, this has to go both ways." Sora frowns, pursing his lips against the boy's finger. "What has to go both ways?" This doesn't really feel like one of his normal dreams--even for the kind of dreams he's been having since he got the Keyblade, it's weird. There aren't ever any people in those dreams, even if the boy doesn't feel like people as much as-- "Don't think to hard about it," the boy says softly. He draws up his knees and turns so that he's facing Sora, and leaning a bit closer, rests his forehead against Sora's. One hand seeks out Sora's, lacing their fingers together. "Hold still." "What?" Sora blinks, trying to process the odd shivers working their way up his spine from every point of contact with the boy. Suddenly, soft lips find his own and the shivers become all-out lighting through his veins. For a moment, he's too shocked to do anything but obey the command to stay still, and by the time he catches up with what's going on, the boy is already pulling away. The boy looks him over, a satisfied expression crossing his face. "Try and remember, okay?" The next thing he knows, Sora's darting upright in bed, staring wide-eyed into the the night. "Remember what, Roxas?" he asks, and frowns. |
