[FIC] Tales of the Abyss Title: N/A Fandom: Tales of the Abyss Pairing: Van/Guy Rating: PG Word Count: 390 words "Van, don't be stupid," Guy laughed, swatting away Van's hand. "I'm not wearing that." Van quirked an eyebrow. "Why not?" he asked. His eyes flicked down to the brightly-colored flower in his hand. It spun slowly as he rubbed the stem between his fingers. "I picked it just for you." Guy snorted and turned around to face the window. "It's a flower." "It's your namesake." "Still. It's a flower, and there's no way that-- hey!" He cut off with a yelp as Van suddenly grabbed him around the waist from behind. "Cut it out! Van!" Guy squirmed in Van's grip, elbowing him in the stomach without any real success. Van was bigger and stronger, like always, and after a minute Guy sighed and stopped struggling. "Fine," he grumbled, letting his head thump back against Van's chest. He could feel Van's laugh against his back. "If you give in that easily, you need more practice" he said, drawing Guy closer and resting his head on blond hair mussed from the struggle. Guy grinned despite himself. "Give me my sword, and we'll see who needs more practice." "Later, perhaps." Broad hands turned Guy around, then slid the flower behind his ear. "There." "I bet it looks dumb." Guy's voice was derisive, but he caught Van's hands around the wrists before he could lower them. Sword calluses caught on the smoother skin of his face as he leaned into the touch. "It looks perfect, Master Gailardia," Van said softly, before leaning in to almost chastely brush his lips against Guy's. Guy took the kiss and deepened it, opening his mouth to let Van slide his tongue just past his lips before drawing back with a smile. "You're an idiot," he murmured, face red. Van bowed his head. "That may be. But I'm at your command, nonetheless." Guy was silent. "It will be my coming of age ceremony, soon," Van continued. "Afterwards, I intend to swear loyalty to you once more." "You don't have to do that," Guy said, finally releasing Van's hands. "We both already know where your loyalty lies, Vandesdelca." Something passed over Van's face--a shadow of an unreadable expression--and then was gone. "...yes, of course." "Good." Guy leaned in for another kiss, the flower falling forgotten to the ground as Van slid a hand through his hair. |
