Harold wrinkled her nose. "It's okay, brother. Not everyone can be as great of a genius as I a-- what are you doing?"
Karell grabbed her and pulled her onto his lap, laughing at her surprised expression. "Distracting you from your brother's failings, that's what." He looped his arms around her waist and rested his chin on the top of her head. "Is--" he paused, blowing a bit of her hair out of the way, "--is it working?"
"It needs work," Harold declared, wiggling around until she found a position that satisfied her. "A better distraction would be something like this." She ducked out from his grasp and pressed her lips to his.
