Dear Daniel,

I hope you'll pardon the somewhat non-traditional gift. I was trying to think of a birthday present that would appropriately capture the joy I feel in this journey we're embarking on together, and I stumbled across this painting in a gallery. The triumph in the posture really spoke to me, given the obstacles I've moved around in my life, and how incredibly right things feel now in comparison. I wish you many happy returns.
