It's always over so quickly... Two years until the next big tournament now. *sigh*
I love football, but I just can't get back into following normal league football. I used to, but ever since they began to show matches on pay TV only, and raised ticket prices for my home team from 5DM for student tickets for the (standing only) fan block to 25€ for the cheapest seat, my enthusiasm vanished. Which means two more years until I can get all enthusiastic about it again.
Anyway, that was quite a nerve-wracking match! I thought I'd get to see very good football and let the way the teams played decide who'd be my favourite - and then we got to see a very rough, partly even ugly match. And since that brutal de Jong foul, for which he didn't even see red, I was keeping my fingers crossed for Spain. I'm so glad they made it in the end!
(And even though this kind of rough, foul-heavy football apparently proves rather effective against Spain, I'm still kind of glad that we lost while trying to play the same fast short passes play...)
Also! Thomas Müller was voted best newcomer of the tournament, and he also took the title of top-scorer! Whoo! \O/
